Yay, inflammation continues to subside and weight coming back to normal steadily 😊 Up to 1 hr walking per day and light upper body weights every other day. Fingers crossed for clearance at next week’s post-op for more strength training (starting physio next week) and good news on incision-healing so I can start planning for being back in the pool. So incredibly grateful for a smooth recovery and a body that’s fine-tuned to heal 🙏

Inflammation continues to improve as I heal, seeing that reflect on the scale is nice and so feeling less stress about regain while in recovery. It was weighing on my mind pre-surgery so glad to see it’s not setting me back a lot. Miss my swimming though, can’t wait to get clearance to get in the pool again 😊

Watching carbs for water retention, starting to see a little progress with water coming down resulting in weight normalizing slowly. Logically, I know it’s going to be weeks before I really know where it is, but given my 5x swimming routine is still probably 5 weeks away at least, keeping an eye to try not to regain too much while recovering. Happy to be getting out for slow daily walks though!

Losing 1.3 kg a Week

Post-surgery and inflammation will take weeks to mostly subside so the weight is not real, but was excited to remove my compression garment and settle back into my weekly weigh-in routine all the same (and shower finally!)
MOMENT OF GRATITUDE: The two years of work getting fit continues to pay dividends through recovery. Got clearance for short walks so bundling up and going every day (hubby on point for socks and shoes 😂) and light upper-body weights so starting today. Medical team really impressed with rate of recovery and how great things are healing. Love functioning more independently daily 😁

Recovery continues with a great breakfast and my gratitude journal. Mexican egg white bites, raspberry oatmeal bake, vanilla Greek yogurt and mint green tea. Feels nice to be able to cook with my sous-chef hubby doing all the reaching, bending & lifting 😊
