Haven’t journaled since before my 2nd surgery as I’m not weighing until swelling subsides.
What’s been going well: Surgery and recovery - so happy with augmentation and my arm flippers being gone! Had time to reflect and set new health goals post-recovery now that weight loss isn’t the aim. Anxious to get started 😊
What’s been a challenge: Work trip days before surgery resulted in altitude sickness, then a cold and sinus infection and for someone who tries to push through sickness at big work events by feeding myself to get energy to function, it was a carb-y few days I had to bounce back from while being sick during first week of recovery. Glad that week’s over!
What’s next: DEXA scan May 4th to get body composition and understand resting metabolic rate. Both will help me determine what fat loss/lean mass development goals I might have and give me a better understanding of maintenance calories. Then starting with an online fitness coach May 6th to work on new strength training approach that will help me with body composition/definition.
Hope everyone is well!

Well that puts the final goal to bed 😄 And on my Mom’s heavenly birthday so especially sweet but of course wish she was here for me to celebrate with. Surgery #2 in 3 weeks - goal to maintain close to this weight despite decreased swimming over the few weeks recovery time. Holy sh@t, I’m in the 120s!!! 🥳
HEALTHY MOMENT OF GRATITUDE: Pre-op appt was a breeze. Bloodwork, diet, fitness…I couldn’t be in better shape. I’ve been never been in better shape. I see muscles in my arms, legs, abs. It’s a positive reminder and affirmation that I’ve worked, and continue to work, hard for my health. Day in and day out. And I couldn’t be more grateful for it all.

Losing 0.8 kg a Week
25 February 2024
Total loss: 255 lbs
Seeing that 130 in front is super satisfying, but - and I know this is not rooted in anything health-wise or necessary at all - I’m kinda really wanting to see a 12x, so I’ve adjusted my goal by 1/2 a lb 😂 Hoping to hit in soon/maintain and then it’s time for post weight loss surgery #2 on March 26th (skin removal arms + chest lift/augmentation).
MOMENT OF GRATITUDE: SO grateful for my body’s ability to heal. Less than 8 weeks after a 360 lower body lift and I’m back to full weekly 5x swim, 5x weights and 5x walk routine. A line out of Common’s newest book I just finished reminds me of wellness - “Taking care of your human self will help you reach your higher self.”

I thought weight-loss was the goal. Discovering and becoming my best self was the real goal, I just didn’t know it yet. Loving me the way I deserve which, in turn, helps me be the best me for the people I love. Feeling truly, honestly, annoyingly happy ❤️
