Well obviously some work to do on maintenance calories as this was not my intent but also could be hormones or hydration so not really fussed over it and know I did the right things. Upped by ~30 calories/day and will add more back this week - suspect it’ll take a little bit to find a sweet spot. Starting to feel like StomachMonkey (“Just add eggs”) 😂 Finding the weekly reports on FS helpful for viewing average calories and macros at this stage.
HEALTHY MOMENT OF GRATITUDE: Was concerned I’d be less motivated to walk outside with the colder weather so I bought some good gloves and fleece leggings to get myself ready and remove possible future excuses. Now realize how good I feel after a little fresh air. Natural vitamin D for the win!

Egg roll bowl & baked wonton chips. SO delicious. Feels indulgent but healthy and you get a great portion size with high protein. I adjust the recipe to lower the sodium and drizzle a little sweet n sour sauce for that Cdn/American Chinese takeout vibe 🤤

I recently said I’d be elated to get under 150 as a final weight goal until I see the impact of skin removal…and here we are! That’s it folks, going full maintenance mode. Goals now shift to heavier/more weights and visible changes in muscle/body composition, along with surgery and healthy recovery planning.
TOTAL LOSS: 236 lbs
HEALTHY MOMENT OF GRATITUDE: 338 people attended the company wellness journey talk I was the speaker at on Friday! Felt super vulnerable but so glad I did it. The notes I got afterward from people who said they walked away inspired to make some personal changes made my day and the reason I first agreed to do it 😊

Good week but focusing less on losing weight as I’m pretty happy in this range for my body shape and muscle composition. 11 weeks to skin removal surgery #1!
On Monday, I experienced something that hasn’t happened in almost a year: I had a snack binge. Coming off Thanksgiving weekend was an emotional rollercoaster personally - no excuse, just context.
Here’s why I’m grateful for the experience:
1. It reminded me that while I’ve done extraordinarily well, food addiction and emotional overeating is something that I have to manage for life
2. I realized I didn’t TRULY enjoy the food. I wasn’t present, I could taste sweet and salty but wasn’t really savouring the food, just eating it. It’s SO much better when you can actually take pleasure in the experience
3. I didn’t like how I felt, emotionally or physically. I felt so blah and queasy and briefly mad at myself
4. I was so proud to bounce back as fast as it happened. Once I figured out why it happened, I just got up the next morning to head to the pool as normal and eat my normal healthy diet. I didn’t punish myself by over-restricting food or over-exercising to “make up for it” or berate myself for being “weak”. I also put the calories into perspective which physically would have resulted in a max 0.5 lb once the water retention and digestion settled and realized it’s not THAT big a deal in the grand scheme of things.
LESSON: It’s not what happens in one day that will ever derail you long term. One day does not undo the accomplishments of the previous 364 days nor the potential of the next 364. We just move on to the next. To quote my favourite NFL coach, “We’re on to Cincinnati”. Have a great week!

Losing 0.5 kg a Week

Good week, upped calories slightly at lunch which seemed to work well without impacting progress. Where I am adding back, trying to make that increase protein-based as much as possible. Will stick in this range for another week and assess again. Have gotten several compliments on how toned my shoulders are this week…whatever, I’ll take it 😂
MOMENT OF GRATITUDE: It’s been 5 years since I lost Mom at 64, largely driven by lifestyle unfortunately. I miss her so much, spent time celebrating her this week and even enjoyed some of her favourite treats - in moderation. Grateful I’ve achieved a level of control with food addiction that has plagued 4/5ths of our family for a lifetime ❤️🩹
