Hubby and mother-in-law came back from their Vegas vacation with the flu. I called 911 yesterday because she fainted with her face in her bedside vomit bucket (apologies for the visual).
The paramedics said she was just dehydrated and didn't take her to the hospital. They said to buy her Pedialyte and have her drink that for the rest of the day, but of course she didn't drink it because she didn't like how it tasted. What a waste of everybody's time. I'm so very frustrated having a house guest who seems to thrive on drama.
I'm trying my damndest not to catch what they have. They are coughing all over the place, and I truly feel for them, but I need the flu like I need a hole in the head, so I'm keeping my distance and working on my own projects around the house.
Once MIL is well enough to travel, Hubby will drive her back home to Montreal. I suppose all of this makes me sound very inhospitable, but I've been a good sport for the better part of the last month while she's stayed with us, and I've kept my mouth shut on many occasions when I felt imposed upon, and now it's time for our lives to go back to the peace & quiet that I'm used to.

Planning on eating a bigger dinner tonight than I have in a while. Hubby has been travelling all week, and when I'm home alone I tend to eat lighter in the evenings since I don't want to cook for just one person. He comes home tonight (with mother-in-law in tow......) so I'm going to have a nice meal waiting.

Breakfast:
• blueberry-flavored oatmeal
• 1 cup of coffee (raw sugar + creamer)
Lunch:
• Lean Cuisine enchilada & rice
Snacks:
• Hungry Cow 100-calorie chocolate rice snack thing
• bowl of apple cinnamon Cheerios + almond milk
Dinner:
• meatloaf (beef/veal/pork combo) + onions (sauteed in butter and wine)
• corn & butter
• tator tots/French fries + ketchup

I'm finally in the 130s. I've been dreaming of this for the past month or so, but the holidays slowed me down so much. I gained a pound in December, which wasn't too bad, but I only have a month and a half before the wedding, so I'm starting to feel the pressure.
I admittedly ate very little yesterday (skipped breakfast and lunch) but I wasn't intending to. I had an early meeting at work so breakfast never happened, and they catered lunch for us but it was a salad dressed in tahini that I was allergic to (can't eat sesame) and the lentil soup was so flavorless that I passed on it after a few bites.
I only had a square of dark chocolate, some coffee, a small piece of bread and later a bowl of beef stew for dinner. Not much, and not good. I went to bed hungry and feeling dissatisfied overall. I'm going food shopping today and will stock up on things to bring to work in the event that I don't like the lunch menu (they cater for us every Tuesday and Thursday).

First day back in the office since before Christmas. I was doing great until a group decided to go to the coffeeshop for a 3 p.m. latte pick-me-up. I got a sea salt brownie, which was incredibly delicious, but I'm frustrated with myself for caving.
