I guess my body is on a longer weight loss cycle. It used to be every week but it appears it may be shifting to every 8-10 days. Anyway, I lost the pound increase and an additional pound. That puts my loss for deficit at 5600 cals for the week. About the same as the previous 1 pound drop. Hopefully that will be my new norm as I can maintain this differential without feeling hungry.

I did my leg workout on Saturday. It was a good workout and I went up in weight on most of the exercises. My legs were kind of fatigued after the workout but no real soreness. I may be approaching my max weight on the exercises but I may be able to push a little higher. We'll see during my next leg day on Friday.

Yesterday was a relax day. Didn't do to much other than run some errands. I did capsule some TMG since that stuff tastes awful. I would put that in the same league as HMB powder as far as taste.

Today was upper body. I changed a few exercises to machines. I did go up on weight on a few of the exercises and was able to push through a little easier. I did start the TMG this morning. I can't say I noticed much of a difference. Overall is was a good workout although I did push more weight than normal. My arms are fatigued.

Tomorrow morning is running. My goal is for 7 miles at a slight up tempo. Should be a good morning to run.

I hope everyone has a great day!

I'm a little baffled by my weight. According to my tracking I've had a deficit of over 5000 cals for the week and I'm up a pound. I'm figuring my body just doesn't want to get out of the 220's. I'm hoping the weight gain is LBM but only time will tell.

I'm still resolved to keep up with my new habits of tracking, eating well and exercise. That will be put to the test when I go on vacation to the Smokey Mountains in early October. DW and I aren't planning much except to get away and relax. I'm looking forward to it.

I still have my leg workout to do today. It will be a little later as we are going grocery shopping and then need to take some critters in to the vet for maintenance. I'll also be doing my pre-workout later today so I won't have the caffeine to help. I may be desensitized to it and will stop taking it when on vacation. My current workout stack is

Caffeine
Creatine
Citrulline Malate
HMB
BCAA

Next week I'll be adding TMG and after vacation I'll also add Beta Alanine. I'll also be going back to a LCHF diet after vacation to see if that helps with the weight loss. It will be short term as I only plan to be on it for 6 weeks initially and will adjust depending on results.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend.

It was a pleasant morning. The temperature was in the upper 60's with low relative humidity. It felt wonderful. It's supposed to be cooler over the weekend.

I got my 6.5 miles in. I would rate this as an easy run. I felt like I could have kept on going. I did push hard the last 1/2 mile and an all out sprint for the last 100 yds or so. Not sure if the extra energy was due to the intervals earlier in the week or the citrulline malate I started taking. Whatever it was I need to start running faster to push myself. I only want to get to 7 miles before going on vacation in early October.

Tomorrow is leg day. I'm going to push hard and up the weights where I can. It will have to wait until we get back from the vet. It still should be fun. Starting next week I'll be switching up my workout days so my long run will be on Saturday. That will mean weights on MWF and running TuThS, off Sunday.

Have a great weekend!

I was awoken by a furry cat sniffing my arm. Kind of startled me but I know it shouldn't with all the cats we have. I guess I was in a light sleep during that time. Unfortunately I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up after lying in bed for half an hour.

I did make it to the gym earlier than my normal time. As a matter of fact it was right when they opened, I was the second member in the door. I really pushed my core exercises increasing from 15 reps/set to 20 reps/set. I also increased the weight on the machines I use for core (lower back and abs). It was a good workout and plenty tiring.

I also started taking citrulline malate to see if it has any effect on me. One difference I did notice was I got lightheaded once I got home. That could have simply been from working out fasted and being hungry. I have been hungry most of the day which is becoming a new norm for me. Every couple of days I get rather hungry. I still try to stay within my calorie limit. I try to eat more solid protein to fill me up. I think I need some more fibrous vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli. I'm currently out of those items and have been eating mostly lettuce and tomatoes.

Tomorrow's goal is to run 6.5 miles. Hopefully it won't be raining. Either way I won't melt so unless we have thunderstorms I'll be out.

Have a great day everybody!

09 September 2015

This morning the screeching alarm woke me up. Way to early but I had to get my run in and shower before work. Such is my new way of life.

I did 6 intervals this morning, 1 lap running "hard" and 2 laps of slow running. A little off plan but I didn't want to push too hard since I'm not used to running hard at this point. No sense in getting injured again. I did cover 4.5 miles withe intervals and ran an extra half mile slow at the end. It was a good run even though the humidity was up and it started to sprinkle towards the end of my run.

I did fall off the wagon last night and ate over my calories for the day. It was my usual foe, nuts, but I was really hungry last night. I've been averaging a 900 calorie per day deficit for the past two weeks. I think it finally caught up with me. Oh well, back on plan today.

Tomorrow morning is core day. I'm going to push really hard and see how it feels. I'll also do the dead lifts I forgot on my last leg day. It should be fun in any case.

I hope everybody has a great Wednesday!
