Black and White Turkey Chili

After being served to 6 hungry adults, there was only about 1 1/2 cups leftover of this savory gobbler chili.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Soak black beans in large bowl of water with 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda overnight. Rinse well. Place in crockpot.
  2. Heat skillet to medium-high, add extra virgin olive oil, yellow onion, a heaping tablespoon chopped garlic and celery. Add in a teaspoon black pepper, rosemary, Italian seasoning, a teaspoon chili powder, oregano, and 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt.
  3. Sauté until slightly tender. Add all to crockpot.
  4. In uncleaned skillet, add ground turkey and remaining spices.
  5. Cook, stirring frequently, until browned. Add to crockpot.
  6. Add remaining ingredients (except for the red onion, save for topping) to crockpot. Stir and cook on low approximately 8 hours.
  7. Serve with shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese, lite sour cream and chopped red onions.

This was a really delicious and filling recipe. My whole family loved it. There were no leftovers! forgot to add the sweetener, no one noticed.

I made this recipe but instead of using the cannelini beans I used kidney beans which is what i had on hand.... DELISH! My kids loved it and my brother who is anti-diet anything loved it as well - he couldn't believe it was a healthy dish.

I can already tell EVERYONE that this recipe is YUMMY! My husband and I helped eat it for dinner the first time it was "created"! We went back for 2nds and 3rds! LOL
