Baked Yam Fries

Delicious yam fries that are easy and quick to make and satisfy both a salty and sweet craving.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 °F (200 °C).
  2. Peel yams and cut into large chunky french fry pieces.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and spread out onto baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle with paprika and salt (or just use seasoning salt).
  5. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly brown on the bottom. Turn and bake for another 5-10 minutes or until soft in the middle and crisp on the outside.
  6. Serve in place of regular potato dishes.
  7. Note: also really good as an appetizer with a yogurt-based dipping sauce!

Delicious! Mine came out a bit soft, might leave them in a little longer/ use a bit less oil next time :) Trial and error! thanks for sharing!

Loved this recipe, can make these all the time now, instead of mashing them.

these are yummy...i divided they into servings and put the others in the freezer before i even tasted them. i didn't want to be tempted to eat them all...and it turned out to be a wise decision on my part. i would have eaten more and they do have a few more carbs.

WW has a similar recipe that uses rosemary rather than paprika. My family loves when I make these.

Ohhhh soooo gooood! It gives me my fry fix. I added freshly cracked pepper and sea salt.

Great! I admit there are still many Carbs in this, but I usually have just a handful of these "fries" and give the rest to my fam. We like it super seasoned, so I usually add dried basil, onion salt, garlic powder, paprika, sundried tomato and italian herb seasoning and crushed chilli flakes. I beat some lime juice, olive oil and chives into some yoghut and added a dash of tobasco sauce to this as well. It served as a yummy dipping 'sauce' : )
