I don't spend a lot of time on FB, but I have to tell you how happy I am to find two more of my high school friends! I can't believe it! I can't begin to say how many years they've been in my thoughts and prayers and all attempts to reach them dead-ended.

My friend Steve took me to my first concert back in 1973 or 1974. We saw Seals and Crofts at our high school! And Karyl and I went to church retreat together, and did a lot of swimming because it was so dang hot where we lived.

Phil, my husband, and I will be driving to Palm Springs to see Steve soon. Perhaps Saturday if he's free. Karyl lives in Arizona, so that trip will have to wait until we have some time away from work to go.

Man! It sure paid off using my maiden name on that FB account! I found my childhood best friend, Xochitl three years ago...what a miracle!

I have so much to look forward to this up-coming year. And this year I won't be heavy. In fact, this year, I am dedicated to beginning my first year as I should have looked and felt all these years that I couldn't put the damn fork down!

After talking to some of our buddies here on FS, I've decided to buy free weights in lieu of a gym. I would rather have my gym room feel open and the free weights won't hog the area for floor exercise.

Thanks buddies for all your input and thoughts about the best equipment to use. And if you happen to be searching for friends and relatives on FB, my best to you! It really is marvelous to find people you love and miss and learn about their lives.

I am finding it easy to eat well now. The stuff I used to crave sort of turns my stomach a bit when I think about eating it.

Pasta, bread, butter, cream sauces, all seem more like paste and greasy goop now.

I am grateful the whole foods I'm eating taste so great. I still can't get over the fact that I'm eating fruits on a regular basis. I never ate fruit. I was good about salads along with my breads, pastas, etc. But they had lots of cheese and meats in them.

I ate raw all day until dinner. It really gives you so much energy but you have to really keep nuts in each mini meal or you'll never be able to eat enough calories to keep you strong and healthy. I had pine nuts throughout the day with various veggies and fruits. I ate half an avocado with an ear of raw corn today for one of my meals ending with some grapes. It was filling and delicious.

Everything tastes so different than it used to taste. My cup of coffee has so much more flavor than I ever remember it having.

In addition to all this, water, water, water and my skin looks so much brighter than just a month ago.

Still hacking away at crunches and arms mostly in the morning and a bit before bedtime.

Well, I've lost 20 lbs so far. I can breath in my clothes again. I find bending down a pleasure compared to how I felt 20 lbs ago. Sometimes I felt like if I had to get on the floor for any reason, that I'd have to struggle to get up.

My back fat is diminishing, my stomach has shrunk so much, and I'm seeing a difference in my neck already.

Losing this weight has done wonders for my esteem at work. I feel so much more energy now.
