Day 6:
I'm going for a motorcycle ride right now, but I want to get this started so I can fill it in later. Things are good.
Day 7:
Although I try hard to eat normally, my weekends are not spent in front of a computer. I forget to log in and journal. I have a tuff time remembering if I don't do it that day. I will be better next week, but I'm not going to press it.

Day 5:
Boy! Sometimes it's hard to drag your butt out of bed! I didn't want anything to do with waking up this morning! But
I did it!
Even heading down to the gym, I was telling myself that I was going to go easy today... but I ended up doing just as much as I usually do. Although I will do some form of activity tomorrow (not on Sunday, though) I won't be recording it unless I go to the gym (doubtful), so this ends the first week.
My total exercise for the week 7/28-8/3 is:
run/walk 311 min 19.85 miles
bike 16 min 3.4 miles
swim 15 min 360 feet
TOTAL 342 mins

Day 4:
And doing good. Even though I had to do my exercise last night late, I still woke up this morning. I was sore, but I got my body out of bed and going. 4 miles this morning. I am becoming obsessed with fitness.

Day 3:
Boy, I have to make up another exercise morning. My wife's nephew's wife (huh?) stopped by last night for a place to crash. She was out here from Florida, and just needed a bed before flying back the next morning. We had never met her (been in the family 15 years, but FL is a long way away) so we sat and talked until midnight. We tried to go to bed then, but my son called and couldn't get his motorcycle working to come home from work. By two o' clock, I was too exhausted to even hear the alarm at 5:45 am. Snooze-a-rama! I'll have to go tonight after Pack Meeting.
I'm still writing down my food. Three days in a row. Accountability. I've even been fully honest!

Day 2:
So I didn't feel very well when I woke up this morning, so I didn't go to the gym, but I felt better so I went to work. I will go to the gym tonight after work and report tomorrow.
I am doing better.
So, what is the UtahToad diet? In reality, it is nothing yet. It is just
forming new habits
.
The
first habit
, which I started a couple of weeks ago, is to exercise hard each day except Saturday and Sunday. I've been doing quite well on that; I've sporadically been exercising for three years, now. But now I'm shooting for consistency! I put in 45 minutes to an hour every day, without fail, and find other opportunities to exert myself during the day. I have tried to get away from my "sit around" time in the evenings and walk, or bike, or swim or whatever.
The
second habit
, is to become aware of what I am eating. I am not counting calories, or points, or fat grams, or carbs or anything. I am just recording what I eat. Once I am aware, I can control. I don't want to be radical, I just want to be in control. I have found, though, that being aware, I have been eating less. Knowing I have to account for it and write it down, I'll think twice!
