Why do we let family get to us? I was doing so good last week until friday. My sister and I have been "helping" each other along. She called me last friday to say that she was taking the weekend off diet for the Superbowl. So what did I do?...the same thing. Why? because I didnt want her to feel bad when I lost weight and she gained it. How stupid is that? I am done with that nonsense. I gained 6 lbs over sat and sun and have been trying to get it back off since then. So far I am back down 5 lbs so its not a lost cause. I am just mad at myself for giving in to her drama and erasing 3 weeks of hard work. NO MORE! I don't care how many times she stops her diet, I am not stopping anymore. What is more, I talked to my hubby who has high blood pressure and is pre-diabetic and he is going to do Atkins with me now. He hates taking blood pressure medication and this may allow him to get off of it. It will make things easier to prepare the same foods for both of us.

Found out today that I am one of those people who is so sensitive to wheat that even the tiniest hint of it will mess me up. I wish I could afford to go all organic so I could avoid hidden items like that a bit easier. I cannot believe how maltodextrin is affecting me and HAS affected me in the past. (I used to drink 2, 2 liter bottles of diet mt dew per day) It is actually causing me to guzzle diet Arizona green tea. Glad I noticed the trend and researched the ingredients in there. It explains so much.
So now I am limited to the following beverages:
Water (with lemon juice if I want)
Tea (green or herbal) regular has too much caffiene
sweetened with stevia w/o any sugar alchohols added.(ie. No Truvia)
thats it. Simple but difficult when eating out and want something besides water. Result: no more eating out. Too much chance of hidden trigger ingredients.

Hope everyone is doing well. I have been on a roller coaster since saturday with my weight and finally today repaired the damage back to where I was. I am discovering that there are charts on Fitday that I really like alot. They have a pie chart that breaks down the percentage of fat to protien etc. I really like that. Anyway, still using that so not on here very much.
Reading those books has REALLY helped me. The best one is a new revised version of "Living Low Carb" by Jonny Bowden. He has a website too: www.jonnybowden.com . I hope this is helpful to everyone. I am currently in my second reading of the book and picking up new things I missed the first time around. Have a great day!

So, my sinus infection is confirmed and now prescribed amoxicillan. Does anyone know how this will effect my weight? I already bought some probiotics to take when I am done with it. Anything else I can do to prevent weight gain on this drug. Note: already increasing water intake too.

Hi all, getting excited that I am REALLY going to succeed this time. I just read the revised new version of "Living Low Carb" It is an excellent book for details and motivation on the best and worst of the low carb world. I just got another one "Why we get fat and what to do about it" by Gary Taubes. He had an article on the cover of Readers Digest about how the Atkins type low carb plan is the best one. The book is supposed to explain his findings. I am excited to finally have all of the facts so if I am confronted again by low carb doubters I know how to debate intelligently. I know this plan isn't for everyone but it IS right for me and now I know how to explain that better.
Miss everyone and hope you all have a great day!
