Chagrinned.
I just got over the weight jump from Birthdays in early October, down to 157, then up to 160!
Then last night I made apple pies--I admit my home-made apple pies with cinnamon, salt, lemon, butter, water and a little flour and scant white sugar 1/3 cup and more brown sugar 2/3 cup-is killer because while it is rich and tasty, it is about half as sweet as commercial, and the apples, five each granny and half Fuji came through with true fruit flavor. Commercial apple pies sometimes have fruit so intrinsically tasteless and under-spiced that all you get is sweet, let me restate, SWEET! The filling made one huge pie and one small one. Before bed, I let myself have a piece: about 1/10th of an open faced 8 inch pie. And today, from 154.8 I went up a pound and a half!
Back to the straight and narrow: NOTHING BUT WHAT I PLANNED AHEAD OF TIME. Lean and green, going to bed hungry. Exercising more.

this morning I weighed three times at 154.4 before I could believe that in one day I have lost 1.4 lbs. Mild tummy problems have helped.Most of the week I've had no appetite and stayed under 900 calories (Keto style) and my weight went from 157 to 156 to 155 in three days.
Surprising but not implausible if it represented loss of bloat (gain from 157 to 161) caused by deserts eaten October 4 and 5.
Morning blood sugar is 101. That is the real goal of all this and seeing that low score is reassuring.
Blood pressure is 122 over 58.

October 19. Dropping ballot at local post office and buying some of those beautiful
Christmas forever stamps. Signing off on final documents for my layoff. They laid me off so fast that they forgot to get that done. I am 78 and in good health, but wondering what work I can get with an English teacher's license and 26 years as a receptionist and very tactful bill collector for my company. I always got results and with courtesy. It helps that our clients had PO's for their purchases, if only internally. I would hate to endanger anyone's well being by demanding payments they can't afford.
still have a wonky tummy resulting in further weight loss. Can't complain about mild discomfort. Just 13 lbs to go to goal. Otherwise feeling better and better as the lbs disappear.

October 18, 2020 Sunday weight dropped dramatically to 156 when I accidentally upset my stomach by eating yoghurt which was a little too aged. Sometimes, even when the date on the carton is good enough, the acid content gets too high. Of course, being lactose intolerant, I usually take lactaid, but in that case when I do not . . . .
