I'm getting a bit discouraged with my not eating after 7 challenge. I've been doing this, now, for many days, and I'm only losing point something a day. Very discouraging, but it could have something to do with the fact that I PO (pig out) every day BEFORE 7...hmmm...ya think?
So, it's time to start cutting way back on my portions and on how many times I eat every 5 minutes...like never...know what I mean?
This will help me with my other challenge of losing 20 pounds by April. Come on, Meg...No food tastes as good as thin feels!!!
83.3 kg Lost so far: 0 kg.    Still to go: 24.3 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I have found that standing on that scale daily is a distraction, it just moves SO little. Maybe doing a weekly weigh would be better for you, it would be a bigger number ( all those little numbers added up). As far as portions go, my husband read an article about the size of our plates and how that affects our potions of food eaten at every meal. 30 years ago the average dinner plate was 8", now that is the size of our salad plates and dinner plates are 12". We use salad plates for every meal, it took me awhile to realize I should only be filling up that plate once not twice, or what is the point!? Lol! Good luck in your challenges

Hi Meg Thanks for supporting my weigh in, very happy to have discovered this little gem of a site. I agree with deestroi only weigh yourself once a week. Put your scales away so you dont see them. Also, my brother is a personal trainer and he put me onto something called Garcinia Cambogia which is an appetite suppressant that also increases your seratonin levels. Make sure you only buy the good stuff though. I've also been studying Emotional Intelligence and one of the techniques it teaches you for stressful situations is to engage one of the five senses to take the edge off, so maybe try out one of the other four. Putting music on I love to dance to helps me and Ive quite taken to art journalling (google Kaizen Journalling) also going for a walk when I get the evening munchies, not at a fast pace I just wander for a good hour, it's kind of like meditating. I started at 78kgs before Christmas and Ive dropped 4kgs doing this stuff and eating a more of an alkaline diet. Ive always had trouble with the evening munchies and Im coping much better now. Hope this helps, remember you can do all things through him who gives you strength!

Thanks for your comments, guys. I know what you mean about the dinner plates, deestroi. I've heard that before, that it's better to use a smaller plate. I do listen to music to distress, as well, Happy Gardner, and this challenge that I'm in to not eat after 7pm is really helping me with the night time binges. I have been better about watching what I eat before 7, as well...so it is getting better for me. I tried the weighing in once a week...I couldn't stand the suspense, though. :-) So I'm back to weighing in each morning...and the little weight I lose I now consider it, at least a loss, not a gain. Trying to change my negative ways of thinking to positive. Thanks for all the advice. God bless you!!!

Just my 2c worth, maybe try having your main meal at lunch time. I know this is completely unreasonable for most people, but if it is possible it could be worth a try

I actually thought about that. I work at a daycare as a cook and I do each lunch there. They are pretty decent meals, so I thought the same thing. Maybe make that my main meal, then in the eves I could have soup or salad or something light like that. I'm going to give that a try. Thanks!
