Some progress! Not huge but enough to keep me motivated. Exercising seems to help me to watch my diet and to apply some caution when the urge to graze strikes.
The best part is being well enough to drum again because, aside from the joy it gives me, I can burn calories at a high rate if I play with some force.
I've appended a couple of pictures from my "office." The big kit is a barrel of fun to play. but is bulky, heavy and takes ages to set up or tear down.
The white one is my gigging kit over the last couple of years. It's light and compact and way easier to transport. I'm now practising on it, having made the decision that I will stay alive and I will get to play gigs again.
A big mental shift was needed when it finally occured to me that I had been waiting to die, rather focusing on LIVING my best life.
While I'm adding photos for the first time, I'll add in a then and now. Me at my hairiest in 1974 and as I am now 47 years later.

Losing 0.6 kg a Week

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!
The nutrition side is not great, but I've upped my exercise markedly in the last few weeks and am feeling better in myself as a result.
I enjoyed a great band rehearsal last night, with us really going for it and my Fitbit reckoned I'd burnt 795 calories in 1.75 hours. I can't walk or jog any distance because of the neuropathic pain in my feet, but drumming is fine even though I'm hitting the pedals hard because the drum throne is supporting my weight. And of course, I'm racking up big calories burnt because rock drumming is very physical and my heart rate goes through the roof as a result of 6 months of enforced inactivity during my last lot of cancer treatment.
I have my own Concept rower in my lounge room (so I can watch something on tv while I row.) I managed 40 minutes rowing today plus some Theraband and dumbbell work. It's so nice to be strong enough to work out again.

Time for an Autumn Offensive in the Weight Wars. I'm now well enough to exercise again, after a very slow recovery from my last course of chemo.
Nutrition is now the big challenge as I developed some horrible eating habits through the period when I felt I was unlikely to survive (confectionary, chocolate, biscuits, and lots of nuts and dried fruits as well as too much fresh fruit.)
Mornings are okay, my breakfast bowl of porridge covers me till lunch, but my tricky period is grazing through the afternoon.
Seeing a small drop in weight today should provide a good incentive to keep working on reducing the snacking.

How annoying, I thought I'd finally dropped a bit. I'm finding it really hard to get motivated.
My haematologist is happy for me to add some kilos as a cushion against the rapid weight loss when my lymphoma returns, but my endocrinologist won't be happy as my diabetes is not going well.
I'm for a better week this week.
