Let's play a game called "Guess what I'm eating":

Am I eating:

a) Large apple
b) Small salad, dressing on the side
c) Carrot vegie snack
d) None of the above

Hmmm, the clock is ticking....

AND THE ANSWER IS:

d) None of the above.

So what am I eating right now; probably 4 white potatoes that my husband mashed to make this very creamy and yummy mashed potato side and some slow cooked bar-b-que ribs!! I know I know. BAD BAD BAD. But, this was left overs from last night and it was just too good to pass up.

My husband is super supportive that I am going to start my diet on Sunday (note: not Monday but Sunday which is very very very rare for me to do since Sunday is still part of the weekend which usually = over eat, fatty foods, fun, drink, party, play, etc.).

Nevertheless, I am determined to lose at least 40 lbs by August 1st. We are going to be going on our annual international vacation to visit family overseas and I want to look like I did when I first met my husband over 8 yrs ago.

So, Sunday is "D" day. Not "D" for Doom, but "D" for Determination!!

Let the good times roll....

Oh yeah, I decided not to waste my time at the gym today either. I figured that it would be compeltely pointless to burn 500-600 calories just to return to my desk and eat that same amount in about 15 minutes. HA!

So I don't know if it is the excitement in me or the stupidity. I'm still waiting on my books to arrive so that I can follow the program exactly as described.

Yesterday my husband went to the grocery store to pick up the items I need to get started. Of course I had to wing it since I don't know exactly what I need, but from the looks of it, it is mainly fruits, vegies, and two egg whites. * I think *. Anyway, he told me that he was going to get the rotisserie chicken (which we always get when we go to the "big" grocery store). It is cheap, running around $5 each, and it tastes great.

At first I told him not to get it because I really wanted to stick close to the way I thought I was supposed to eat in the detox phase. But then he told me, "well I'm not going to eat either then". Of course that made me feel bad and guilty all at once because I didn't exactly know what I was supposed to eat anyway and didn't want to throw him under the bus. This is all keeping in mind that he has already reached his goal weight/shape/looks, etc. and it shouldn't matter as much to him as it does to me. But since I am still very much in love with him after 6 years of marriage, it just hurt me inside to know that he was going to eat cereal simply because I wanted to eat vegies and stick to the plan.

He got over on me this time. Because I knew I was going to screw up the plan anyway, as soon as he picked me up from the train station after work, I drove directly to McDonalds and ate a small fry and plain sunday. Agghh!! Felt bad after but didn't stop there. When I got home I ate a chocolate chip cookie, bag of popcorn, twizzlers, and a few other misc. candies. I figured that I should just eat it before I "officially" start my diet so that it won't be in the house after and tempt me.

I so need to get my book so I can begin....:(
