Trying out this system until the last day of February. Had a chef salad for lunch, planning on a sandwich for dinner but will probably go for a treat this evening after mini golf.
Set aside the requirements and then daily logging will be any additions not on the requirements list.
"Eat what you need, and add what you want." This should result in a calorie deficit that is satisfying.

Ok, I have calculated about 1000 calories per day for the week. Working on putting all the stuff in certain areas in the fridge and then the dry goods on the shelf together. I will probably go out Friday night so the way I will handle that is to write down anything not on the list. At the end of the month I will deduct what I don't eat from the shelf items.
I tried some oatmeal grain thing and that was awful. I just really don't like oatmeal unless it has sugar and cream on it so I am skipping the oatmeal. So off we go! I have definitely decided on going to the reunion in June so that is where I am aiming.
Made peanut butter cookies and I think I will make the rule that I have to have tea if I have a cookie because I have to increase water intake.

The volunteer place gave us homemade granola as a thank you gift. I finished off the whole package today.

I am discouraged. Gonna stop weighing myself.
I logged a week's worth of food on Monday. Before the weekend I will have it set up so I can food prep 1000 calories a day out of what I listed. Need to get some items but I have so much food in my house it's ridiculous. Making soup now to have as a snack along with apples. I am following the idea of a couple of influencers which includes:
Eat the same thing every day.
Eat what you need, add what you want to make it satisfying.
Focus on protein and fiber.
Lift weights and even body weight can help build muscle.
I am adding in this from my own lines and experiences:
Soup, fruit, and chia seed pudding for snacks.
Heading out to the volunteer place soon.

Home again! I did hang out with some fun people and I certainly danced! The hotel room by myself was good, went to restaurants alone but that was ok too. I saw a lot of people I like who like to dance with me so that was fun. I guess it wasn't any worse than going last year with the boyfriend and he ignored me the whole time.
Any way, eating ok, gearing up to exercise but not quite doing it yet, gotta go check on some property I manage so on a road trip later in the week with my friend KB who had the gastric bypass last fall. It's been a struggle for her but she is down 60 pounds, half way to where she wants to be.
Went to funeral today and ran into the boyfriend. That was sad and awkward. But it was funny over the weekend, I told one of my friends that I was there alone because of the breakup and he said "what is wrong with that guy, you're a catch!" lol have not heard that description in ages! Anyway, old-school compliment gave me a smile over the weekend.
Been thinking about a video I saw, where the coach was saying don't make things easy for yourself, he wasn't there to make losing weight or getting healthy an easy thing. His whole approach was make it hard, get out of your comfort zone, because in the comfort zone is where you got fat and lazy and wanting things easy. He was recommending a whole lifestyle change and that made sense to me.
One of my friends today said 1000 calories a day isn't sustainable. Well, that really depends on how tall and active and fit you are. If I hit 1000 calories a day, I would barely be in a deficit.
Gotta go out and get some batteries for my scale so I can weigh in. Had some around here but can't find them so I will go out and get more and guaranteed I will find those other batteries 10 minutes later.
