Goal: my current average blood sugar is 123; my goal is to have an average of 100 or less.

I am thankful that my son and daughter-in-law are here to visit: I am thankful for family.
I am grateful to have enough food, for a chance to start over---to manage my diabetes better by being responsible for 4wq.

Goal: Record food, be aware of what, when where why and how I eat. (Lets put that into a snappy code: a rap song:)
Part 1)I can control 4w-q
Stands for what when why where and quantity of what I eat.
Part 2)say: "

am the boss of

, not you!"
(The rebellious pre-teen in me must put in her two cents.)
Now the other issue: I don't want the food that I consume to be food taken from another person's mouth, (Eww, poor word choice)
I know that
Only
by the grace of God do I have what I have. I feel guilty for having enough when so many people and creatures great or small don't have enough.
So, I now
choose
to let go of the fear that my luck will run out and I won't have food. To counter fear of starvation issue I will:
1) go to the community center once a week to volunteer in the kitchen doing whatever they need me to do.
Or, 2) donate food or money to a food bank---church?
or 3)Choose to fast and pray for one meal that day--to sacrifice one meal and devote that time to prayer for an end to hunger and to express my gratitude for all that I have.
The most important part of this step is that I WON"T TELL ANYONE THAT I AM DOING IT! This is hard for me because I narrate my entire life. ay!
So this two horned issue requires a two part code...will go as follows:

did a lot of emotional eating last night and first thing this morning. Now it is lunch time and I am deciding to take control of my eating again. all is not lost. I am drinking iced mint water because it is a healthy diretic (too much salt last few days makes me feel bloated) Plus, I think mint is also a mood lifter. So, here I go again...life long effort? I guess.
