Hola! My name is Margaret, I'm 24 years old and FINALLY getting healthy after being overweight my whole life.
I started to lose weight officially in Jan 2010, when I was at my heaviest at 205 lbs at a whopping (sarcasm) 5'4''. I never thought I was that bad and THAT unhealthy, but I was. I started to count my calories (was horrified by what I thought was low-cal and healthy and really wasn't) and exercising 4-6 times per week. Two years later, thanks to FS, support and some staple low-cal items that have filled me up for the last year, I reached my initial goal of losing 55 lbs as of 4/7/11. I'm now holding steady around 145 lbs, working on my first half-marathon and turning fat into lean muscle mass.
Even in high school I was never lean or healthy, so I am wandering through no-man's land now and loving it. As an adult, I was always at least a size 12 (going all the way up to a size 18), but now I am comfortable in sizes 6/8. I HATE cliches, but I will own up to this one: if I can do it, ANYONE can. If you think you're one of those who CAN'T, drop me a line and I will horrify you with stories of how bad I used to be :)
