It is organic boiled eggs and cream cheese to dip my cashews in! It wasn’t the best but it was keto and okay. I haven’t slept more than a few hours since Sunday and my body is angry... never hungry, never tired, having some serious tummy ache issues and losing hair... but good news I still have a home... but now probably won’t have the rent money to pay rent after a week in an Inn by the ocean and all the other expenses we have had this week. Also spent $580 on food last Saturday at Costco, budgeted for two weeks, then splurged on our Universal Trip knowing we had enough food, already for some holiday shopping done but our power went out Friday evening due to the fire and was out for days... all the food went bad. I also forgot my back pack, Patagonia jacket and sunglasses in the locker at Universal Studios Hollywood on Monday... I am not saying this for pity. This is a realization post. So I didn’t adult well, forgot important stuff, but when it came time to packing I didn’t even know what to get when evacuating... which tells me I have too much crap I don’t love or need in my house if I wouldn’t want to save it on an emergency... then I thought if I didn’t buy that holiday stuff that is all around my house I would have saved $1000’s of dollar I have spent at pottery barn... and for what, to let it possibly burn up? Or I could have a few $1000s in the bank for a trip. Eye opening. No more stuff, just more time for living and experiences. We may be able to go home Saturday if it is still standing. But air quality today is too bad and the smoke damage to our house is going to be extreme!!! So probably one more night! Oh and if you read all this Mumbo jumbo thanks for all the support. I have slept less than an hour a day and I believe I’m losing it. 🤪

Love you, what your experiencing can lead to ptsd, find help. There are programs city, county state and federal to help you in disasters. As for your "monday morning quarter backing" way of thinking. It's normal shoulda coulda woulda, BUT you were living you don't own a crystal ball that I know of lol. Don't beat yourself up, you wouldnt think that way of a good friend, so don't do it to yourself! You all survived because of the strong woman you are, you will continue to survive and your children will be stronger because of your your actions. Hugs

8patty, unfortunately my oldest and I already have PTSD... luckily we got our hotel another night. Going to the ER to get more face masks, especially kid sized, may need them for a few days. My dad and step mom are staying at the hotel across the street now. And if thinks get ugly here due to fire and wind then we will stay north to my sister's house. Luckily my BF usually gets a large holiday bonus which will be coming soon (hopefully because his bosses house and business are still threatened, were praying hard for them because they are like family) I'm rambling now... But I'm doing a little better mentally today... main reason we stayed another night is winds expected Friday and the air quality in our town is still awful and Our homes are the mandatory evacuation area still. Our landlord hasn't even reached out to us, but I contacted him twice, letting him know the house was good... but he never asked how we are or anything friendly ☹️people suck. Thanks for continual support FS fam

What a tough situation! I can't even begin to imagine the stress alone. You're right about looking at our "things" and realizing what's really important, I think that is something good for everyone to remember. I really hope you're able to get back to your house soon and don't have to deal with this stress much longer. Good luck to you!!

Stay safe. Your landlord sounds like a scum bag. He/she should check on you.

Glad you doing better mentally. The fairgrounds is set up to take people and where you can register for help. Google: ready ventura county, may have resources. Thousands are donating to Catholic Charities, Red Cross, Fema, ect don't be afraid to reach out for help. We lost everything in a hurricane fema was worthless they don't help if you have insurance. Our insurance paid 4 years 11 months later. Blessings Sweetie❤️

No words describe how pained my soul is for you, your babies, & family. I hope y'all can breathe freely again soon. Please rest as well as possible, no worries for things we can not control, & remember that one day (maybe not any time soon but) you, your babies, and your family will be sitting around laughing at how crazy this DEC was & how it was still beautiful because you all woke up together and had "blueberry pancakes (insert xmas breakfast here)" for breakfast that xmas morning 😉. Loving thoughts!!!

Thanks! I know all that is important is my family’s lives... but living out of a suitcase bored out of our minds and worried sick about our town, bills, home and friends has been tough!

Please remember that you are human and there is only so much you can do. Do what you can now and focus on the rest later. Don't let the stress get the best of you. Prayers to you and your family.
