I hope everything is OK. I had one as a kid .... it used to be like a Walkman hanging on your side with wires that lead to electrods so ot can record your heart. you will most likely have to sleep with it on too. Not sure how much they have changed it could be much smaller then a Walkman now

Erin - my doctor is checking everything after my week of R&R in the hospital before Christmas. Hospital says it was a COPD episode because my breathing bottomed out. Doc says heart problems manifest differently in women than in men so he's doing his due diligence. We're also playing hide and go seek with a blood clot that showed up in my blood work and we can't find the lil sucker anywhere(bloodwork also showed that I had a heart attack - but I didn't). That's why I'm not in Jamaica this week, as intended, with family and friends - can't fly with a blood clot ;( My theory is: my body finally had enough of my bullshit and said it's time to start looking after myself. It's forcing me to face some hard facts like: quit smoking, eat healthier, no more working 70+ hours a week with only 1 day off; so basically respecting my body's physical limitations and....I AM listening! I plan on hitting retirement this Summer with a healthier body and a happy lungs!

I'm sorry to hear your couldn't travel with family and friends but taking care of yourself is definitely the most important thing you can do. I have a friend who has a blood clot as well and she knows where hers is but her meds kinda help it but don't. Eating healthier and respecting your body's limits can be very hard to get used to but I can tell you that you do eventually get used to it just takes time like everything else.

I wore a Holter monitor for three days. It was at my request because I have a slow heart rate. I was worried about the heart-stopping at night while sleeping. They confirmed it was a very slow rate, but it was OK because the heart never stopped. It was good information to show that I did not need a pacemaker installed. They can tell other heart abnormalities using the monitor. It's an excellent diagnostic tool. Good luck.

I wore one for 3 days to check out the weird irregular fast beating I was feeling. It was a bit awkward to wear all the wires and carry the bag with it around my neck & I had a mark on my chest from 1 electrode that took forever to scrub off. I was worried about the stress test, but I survived that treadmill episode. Heart beating fast turned out to be nothing serious but good to know 😊

well everyone, the Holter monitor is on for the next 3 days. Its a lot smaller than I thought it would be - only 2" x 3" sitting just under the left collarbone. I know that I have had a heart murmur pretty much since birth but it's never caused any concern. I'm gonna have some fun with this baby...gonna try and get the heart really pumping - maybe watch some porn. LMaO If we were having nicer weather, I'd be out digging in my gardens but I see that I might be shovelling snow tomorrow - that will definitely get my heart pumping! In the mean time, I've got the music cranked and I'm up dancing with some good tunes. Dancing Queen took me rocking all around the house - kinda scared the cat!! LoL
