Today was my first day back from a long weekend away. Overall, I ate well (sticking with a primal diet) with a few predetermined indulgences here and there, like the root beer float with vanilla and root beer liquor, and root beer made from Louisiana cane sugar. I don't remember ever experiencing a sugar rush in my adult life (that should be telling of my previous diet) until I drank that root beer float, three weeks into a strict primal lifestyle. I get it now.

A trip through G'boro wouldn't be complete without a stop at Pie Lab. The blueberry peach cobbler pie was calling me, but I ate it rather reluctantly, as some of the charm quickly dissipated. It's amazing to me how quickly my palate has adapted - sweet tastes too sweet and grain based foods feel so inferior.
