I've always considered myself healthier than average. Though I've never dieted, I've gone through different eating phases including: vegetarianism, raw food, juicing, no dairy, whole foods, fermented foods, sprouting, wild foraging, and eating whatever I want and loving it.

My perception of myself started to change over the last year when I suddenly looked at myself in the mirror and realized that I wasn't as strong as I used to be. I was never an athlete but I used to enjoy rock climbing, biking, and hiking. I've had debilitating migraines for the last ten years and I've recently been waking up and wondering if this is what it feels like to "get old".

I have a keen interest in END:CIV and recently stumbled upon Lierre Keith's book, _The Vegetarian Myth_ through Derrick Jensen's writing. Prior to that I had read Michael Pollan's, _The Omnivore's Dilemma_. Both books, which delve into our ancestral eating patterns versus the S.A.D (Standard American Diet), resonated with me. From there I discovered Paleo/Primal communities.

My primary goal is to eliminate my monthly migraines which appear to be hormonally based. My second goal is to achieve a waist-to-hip ratio between .8-.7. I currently have a waist to hip ratio of .95. I would like my weight to be 135, but I'm more concerned with my health. I would like to feel and be strong enough to rock climb again or start another sport, perhaps windsurfing.

I'm 42 and 150 lb.

My biggest challenges: PIZZA and BEER!
