I am trying not to eat meat some days during the week (trying to reduce my carbon footprint) but the days that I replace the meat with lentils, chickpeas or beans I get so bloated and it's so uncomfortable. Do you know any way I can avoid getting bloated?

fart more (but carbon footprint may suffer) Perhaps your stomach will adjust to more lentils

Deixe as leguminosas de molho por 12 horas no mínimo, descarte a água do molho e cozinhe com uma água nova. Ajuda a liberar os gases dos grãos que nos deixam estufados🙂

You may want to start with a small amount of beans. I mean just a tablespoon. You can continue to add as you build a tolerance.

@jengetfit123 I was thinking about something more natural @liv001 I hope! @sesmalaura muito obrigada pela dica, eu faco assim com o feijao mas nunca fiz con a lentilha. @Erquiaga good idea, thanks!

Beans and lentils do that and I don't think you can build tolerance to them. I've been eating them my whole life and it still makes me bloated. Have you tried plant based protein shakes or meal replacement products? Also one thing you can do is use a digestive enzymes supplement before meals which might help.

If you are making the beans from scratch, be sure to soak them overnight. Lentils don’t need soaking. If they are coming from a can rinse before using. And yes, Beano or other digestive enzyme will work.
