Grilled Hearts of Romaine
Something different to do with that lettuce!
Ingredients
Directions
- Mix together oil, lemon juice, and finely minced garlic clove.
- Cut hearts of romaine in half lengthwise and bruish with marinade mixture. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Refrigerate until just before grilling.
- Grill just a couple of minutes until leaves start to wilt. Then turn over and grill a few more minutes.
- Dust with the grated cheese and enjoy. Skip the cheese if you are in stage one, the detox mode.

I have been making "grilled" salad for years! I am so excited to see this here. My friends would always think I was nuts until I served it to them and they are all hooked. You can't go wrong with this - just don't grill it TOO long.
