Up 4 pounds this morning! WTH?
Sodium has been around 2000 or lower; calories between 1500-1800; total carbs around 20-25 (a couple days slightly higher); water usually 96+ ounces (yesterday may have been more like 70 because I forgot to count how many full 32 oz bottles I had). I have not cheated. I can't excercise due to some buldging disks I am having treated with acupuncture, but I do walk as often as I can handle. I understand our bodies need to adjust every now and then, but adjust up by 4 pounds!

You really can't take a narrow view of weight loss. I have lost 100+ pounds on a low carb diet. I weigh myself every day. It is nice to see negative numbers, but sometimes weight goes up. Fluid intake, particularly, has a lot to do with it. You mentioned you may have gone low on fluids and that can contribute to a temporary problem. Not having enough water is a really big deal when low carbing. Believe it or not, you can actually gain weight from not having enough water. Our body gets much of its fluid from carbohydrates normally. When you take that away, you naturally get dehydrated. If you skimp on water intake, your body is going to try to pull even more water out of what food you're giving it resulting in a temporary weight gain. And if you're in ketosis, it's important to keep a high water intake to flush out the ketones/fat, etc. If your water intake goes down, some portion of that may get re-absorbed. That said, I weigh myself daily. I have seen a 24 hour period where the scale showed +3 pounds. And of course, I've never seen more than 2 pounds lost in a single day. But, week to week, it works.

Great post DenKong. Msamy, I am in agreement. There are so many "little things" that can go into the scale showing a gain. You know you haven't cheated so at least it is not a true gain, it will come back off before you know it.

If you are following Induction, you need to keep your net carbs under 20. Especially since you don't exercise, the excess net carbs can hurt. I don't know if you're on induction or not, but maybe going back to induction will bust the plateau you seem to be on. Good luck !!

Alexandra, I count total carbs instead of net so my net carbs are always under 20. I only recently started to take hidden carbs into consideration as well...always learning here! Thank you for your input :)
