I can't comment on Atkins or Weight Watchers since it's been years since I tried either one. However, I will say that recording all of my food is crucial for me. It keeps me accountable and doesn't let me lie to myself. Seeing everything written down in black and white keeps it real and makes my think twice when I'm tempted to eat outside of my daily plan. If I write foods down after I've eaten them I'm always shocked by the calories I had consumed without even realising it. I know how hard it is to stay positive and not just give up because it is so difficult, but you've come so far! Try to stay positive, I'm sure you can keep going until you reach your goal!

Atkins, Weight Watchers, whatever, requires strict adherence. Stray from the confines of your particular way of eating and you won't be successful.

I agree with Medward. Eating a little more carbs may mean eating a lot more carbs. Unless you track every bite, you won't know what is happening. Nothing against Weight Watchers or Atkins, but Phil is right. Stick with your particular plan because from what I can see, you have done quite well with it so far. Just go back to tracking your food again.

Have you checked out the ketogenic way of eating? It is low carb, moderate protein and high fat. I did Atkins once in the past, but I felt like I was on protein overload. With keto, I don't feel that way at all, and with the extra fats, I feel full much longer and I don't have cravings! This girl NEVER, EVER thought cravings for chocolate and sugar, and Chex mix and cookies, etc.. would never go away. A few days doing keto and WHOA! I have been very pleasantly surprised.

Going to and from very low carb diet translates into instant loss/gain of same ~8 lb. We store ~1.5 lb of glycogen in muscles, it gets depleted when you are on keto or low carb, plus glycogen attracts water. Neither glycogen or water have anything to do with fat gain or loss. So don't despair, it might be that you just replenished your glycogen.

Thanks for all the support and for the ideas how to move forward. I had alot of success on Atkins but don't know how to switch to regular eating. I stay on the induction basically for 2 years.

OK I'll bite whats the difference between Atkins and Keto and does some have a good Keto site to check out.
When I say I ate some more carbs I mean like a small piece of cake but still no bowls of pasta or rice or pizza or bread. How if you get to a good weigh do you get to eat some level of carbs and not gain weight back?
