June 30th 2024, about 3-weeks prior to joining this wonderful FatSecret community, I decided that I wasn’t gonna give up and just accept being fat for the rest of my life. Today I weighed in 20lbs lighter from that day — without going to extremes, i.e. over exercising and eating way too little. I’m moving a reasonable and enjoyable amount throughout the day and I’m eating food that I genuinely love without depriving myself. Since that time, my sleep has improved and my self deprecating thoughts have less room in my head because I’m taking better care of myself. This is a level of consistency I can manage and maintain because I’m not making it more difficult than it needs to be. If anyone reading this is feeling defeated, don’t give up, you are worth the effort!

Way to go! It’s consistency that’s the key. I get depressed (bipolar) and I get the f’its. You know what I mean? I need a strategy for those days. Sounds like you’re figuring it out. Awesome job! 😀

dmarie ~ thanks! My biggest defeater in the past was always a) being to extreme and b) not being consistent. So, I’m working on not falling back into those patterns. I struggle with depression as well sometimes and bipolar runs in the family, which I don’t think I have but I definitely have bi-polar tendencies, 😂. I’m just trying not to be my own worst enemy at this point.
