saw a dr today and his analogy was that the body is like a hybrid car. to lose weight you need to get it off burning carbs for fuel and get it used to the fat source. he said the change of diet has made us all eat more carbs and makes us hungry all the time. he advised to get rid of carbs and get the body back to fat burning first without reducing intake , then once it is used to that source , you reduce the volume and should lose weight without getting hungry.
