MouthWideShut's Journal, 15 Jan 24

I can't believe how quickly this weight it coming off. My eating habits have been the same for most of my life and I haven't had issues until the last couple of years. I put off trying to lose weight because I felt like it would be a waste of time. I didn't understand why all of a sudden I would be gaining weight with the exact same habits.

Then the night sweats and mood swings started. My body is getting OLDER! And it's changing in ways that I am less than stoked about. My metabolism has slowed down and so has my activity level. Sore joints and a bad back have made the things I used to do less fun.

Part of my goals this year is to find new things I love to do to keep me active. I think I'll start swimming again. I really want to learn how to paddle board, too. The idea of going out on a kayak, which I've always been a little afraid of, is becoming really appealing, too. What are some low impact things you all do to get yourself out of the house and stay active?

This lake I live on really gives me no excuse to not at least try these new things.

Beautiful view. Excellent for walking, running, kayaking, or lifting weights outside when weather permits. Whatever you do movement will definitely help in so many ways!

Kayaking is super fun and once you try it you’ll see it really isn’t scary. I felt the same way before trying it, I thought it would be easy to turn upside down, it’s really not! Beginner kayaks are very stable

Absolutely gorgeous views. I love to kayak kayaking is a great adventure. If you do it within reason with a life jacket and make sure you take some lessons or you start off with easy bodies of water nothing with crazy waves and work your way up just like everything else. I hope you do it. I hope you enjoy it fully.

You are not alone in the hesitance you feel about kayaking. I can't count the injuries and hospitalizations I've ran headlong into doing insanely dangerous things just for fun... but kayaking has always been “no está bien” !!! Let me know how it goes, I'll be watching from the shore with respect.
