Sometimes, you need to mix it up! Hang in there.

Don’t eat too much fiber though. It’s around 24 for a woman though. You can get a lot just by eating Fiber 1, 1/2 Cup. Think it’s 9 grams. If you don’t like milk, use ice water. It’s not much to eat.

I found Kashi cereal and it has like 10g. Taste Ok with milk.

Sprinkle 2 TBSP ground flaxseed in smoothies, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, salad, soups, pasta, juice. I even use it mixed in light crust mix for oven fish, chicken or veg. A quick way to get a little more fiber and a couple grams protein. Every little bit counts...

LuC2 My nutritionist suggested the same thing. I couldn't find any at Target. Where can I find it?

Look on the flour aisle at TARGET for Bob's Red Mill Organic Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal 16 oz (about $5) <http://www.bobsredmill.com/or... I've also bought (HEB) Central Market Organics Cold Milled Ground Flaxseed and (WALMART) Wild Oats Marketplace Organic Ground Flax Seed. Again, all roughly the same cost give or take a dollar. Generally same stuff, slightly diff names/branding. I just keep the zip-pouch in my fridge and try to remember to sprinkle :D P.S. Remember lots more fiber means you need LOTS more water. Drink up or you'll be in a bind...literally.

Thanks for the information. I'll get some tonight. I'm currently drinking a gallon of water per day so my nutritionist said I should be fine.

Oh yeah, that's more than fine :) I just thought I'd better throw that little bit of caution in there. Good luck, Toolmannc1, I'll be trying your oven chicken tenders with a little added ground flax this week!

Draglist, do you have a protein 'catch-all' besides nasty shakes?

The chicken tenders are good.

I've tried two protein powders Garden of Life Vanilla (eww, chalky...but I love the ingred list) and True Athlete Whey Chocolate (much better tasting, a little clumpy but I don't care for the stevia sweetener). I'm thinking of just getting Naked Whey powder to get the protein and skip the other stuff. I'll look for Body Fortress sample

LuC2 google Syntrax. I've used the sweets and the wife likes it too. I know many of the "sweets" line is pure protein with no carbs at all. I get mine from The Vitamin Shoppe but other companies carry it as well. 24g of protein per scoop with no carbs. The chocolate Truffle is good as well as the others I have tried. Good luck. Good way of getting protein without adding the fat of meat.

Body Fortress is cheaper too. The last time I bought some was at Wal-Mart. I think it was only $18.99 compared to about $35 for the Syntrax. I've tried both and liked both but at the time I wanted to add only protein so I used the Syntrax the most.

Broke my recent plataeu by lowering carbs more often, upping cardio, and lowering calorie intake. Slight changes, big differences. Good luck to you.

To be honest, the Garden of Life tasted like sweetened dirt...just like mud pies when you were a kid. But I'm 43 and $30 mud pies ain't the business (LOL) :p
