At long last, I weigh under 230 lbs. This past holiday season took its toll, and I indulged in too many things that were not conducive to weight loss. What I have changed seems to be paying off.
(1) Eat one fewer meal a day, usually lunch. Use fruit, nuts, and seeds to deal with cravings.
(2) Move more. I walk about 3500 steps a day. Need to up that first to 5000, then to 7500, and ultimately to 10,000 steps three times a week.
(3) Spend time each day on the exercise bike. Plan calls for watching a TV show while pedaling away. Jeopardy would be good, since I watch it six days a week.
(4) Placed my portable stair-stepping machine under my desk so that I can do steps while sitting. Use a barter system. I need to do 50 steps to open a browser and 25 steps to navigate from one site to another.
(5) Go back to my high school regimine of 50-50-50, namely upon waking do 50 situps, 50 knee bends, and fifty push ups. Repeat at night. Three times a week.
Eat less; move more. That's what's working for me now. Let's see how this goes.
