I've had the same experience a few times. I eat more than my calorie count and lo! I lose weight. I've decided it is simply the magic of saying "The Hell with it!". Congrats on hitting your goal weight!

you brat. ok, fine CONGRATS ON YOUR GOAL WEIGHT! I just may go out to search for those meals today. Im desperate. Never heard of a bean and cheese tamale... but I think the real answer here is.... YOU LOSE WHEN YOU EAT! you shocked your system w/ some greasy tamales (its a given, they have to be greasy if they are good right) and then the sUpposedly healthy veggie burger... haha! idk. my brains starting to throb... sooooo... are those burgers any good??

You suck for this phenomenon. I no longer believe you're human.

I know why, I know why!!! You tricked your body. Your body is used to you eating right, eating low, so it burns what it needs to. But when you ate more than your usual, your metabolism was kicked into high gear and started burning up all the extra fuel. Your body had an "Oh crap! Gotta get to work!" moment. And now it's STILL burning, so it's thinking you're going to eat that way again today. So, keep it low, and I think you will be fine, or maybe even LOWER tomorrow. I just journaled about this yesterday!! Great job!!! Congrats on the goal weight!!!

P.S.2 (get it?!) What a nerd I am. Anyway, tell me more about these bean and cheese tamales. As a Mexican, I am so intrigued.

You guys have never had bean and cheese tamales!?! Holy crap, they are better than any other kind. Now that I'm a vegetarian it's the only kind I can eat, but the meat-eaters in the office don't even care about the chicken or pork, they go straight for the bean and cheese. They're awesome. It's basically just refried beans and a white cheese, but I've never asked what's all in 'em.

Woo hoo, that's great! Isn't it ironic though the way it happened? That's gotta be frustrating.

@Cindy: The fakeburger was pretty good for fast food, but the frozen kind I prepare at home are much better.

Are you vegan? I'm pretty sure I know what kind of cheese it is that's used. I'm going to tell my mom to make some next time we make them. Mmm... My mom makes cheese tamales. All those have are mole and a piece of cheese (either monterey jack or cheddar) and they are phenomenal. I prefer those to the meat ones, too.

Nope... I still eat dairy/eggs so I'm not a vegan.

Okay, that's what I thought. I read you were vegetarian (I'm sure you would have said vegan if you were) but was just wondering because most tamales are made with lard. Mmm...lard. LOL.

LOL I know. I always have to question the places I get them to see if they use lard (don't eat 'em) or oil (WOOHOO!).

Yeah I was telling Cindy my mom made them with oil once. No bueno. Lard rules when it comes to tamales. Haha this is sooooo not FS talk.

So that's good you can find good ones made with oil.

I didn't even start eating tamales until a couple of years ago (I know... blasphemy), so I'm fairly sure I've never had a lard tamale. LOL I guess I got lucky that I don't know what I'm missing.
