willimon's Journal, 29 Jul 22

It's been about 7 years since I left an entry. At the time, I weight 225 pounds. I got down to 197 at the lowest, and then over the years have slowly allowed lifestyle changes to bring it back. The last 3 years have been the worst. I'm back up to almost where I started.

Time to do it again.

I've done the WebMD calorie calculator for my current stats, and a few others to see how they compare these days (it's been some years). With my sedentary lifestyle I need ~2973 calories a day to maintain weight. As I am a HUGE believer in gradual loss to keep the metabolism from slowing down (I never really hit any plateaus when I lost the weight the first time), I am going to targee 1 pound a week deficit (500 calories under baseline), or 2473 calories per day.

My Doctor has me on a 1 lb a week loss goal, also. My loss goal as per Doctor is due to medicatiion that causes weight gain and my low ability for exercise due to knees and balance. --- I will follow you and see how we are doing. --- Welcome back to the journey.

it's never too late to start again! you'll be glad you did. Sometimes the hardest thing is to get started. I've learned to go even when I don't feel like it.
