Debbie - it's not uncommon for the scale weight to fluctuate up and down like that. Mine hovers in a 3 pound range all the time. I weigh at a consistent time daily, then keep a running 7-day average in a spreadsheet to smooth out the bumps

Fluctuations like that are real, just very particular. The weight I am when I wake up vs after my shower post workout can make it look like I gained 5 lbs overnight. 🙃

sounds like a regular fluctuation... even more so if you ate the meal late in the evening.

Fluctuations are completely normal and are not usually a true fat gain. It's usually due to sodium, carbs, a hard workout, less sleep than usual . . . the list goes on.

It's probably water/bloating. I weigh myself everyday so I can recognize those random weight gains and not freak out about it. Also consider (because I have this issue chronically) when the last time you went to the bathroom was.

I heard somewhere if we weigh ourselves every day it can be discouraging. My suggestion, which is what I do, pick a day and time of day and only weigh yourself then. Good luck and you can achieve your goal.

I got a new scale off Amazon for $20. It’s a game changer! Hooks w my phone and tells me all kind of info! I plan on using this everyday, even after I reach my goal so I won’t make the mistake I did last time!

I have a heart problem and I am super big I did loose 91 lbs over 2 1/2 years but then it stopped coming off. The doc. put me on a diuretic, so now the scales don't mean much. I have fluctuated by as much as 9 1/2 lbs in 4 hours. So don't be bothered by the scales look at the long term. good luck.

It's not actually 3lbs of fat you gained overnight, but it could be that you're holding on to some water due to salt or carbs.
