I mean we have lost a total of 3 lbs a week but seems a little low. I have really tried to only make healthy food no bread or rice, Counting calories of course.

It's not a race! That seems like a really good loss especially if it's consistent. What kinds of foods do you like? I try to stick to MOSTLY protein and veg but I don't to keto. I season/marinate my proteins to match my mood. lol if I'm going to grill a chicken breast, I will grill a few and save leftovers to top salads for breakfast/lunch.

Well I have been making mostly shrimp, lots of salads and fruit. A smoothie with lunch, made mini meatballs the other day and meal prepared for the whole week with them, made egg bites and eat those or fruit in the morning. Id like to learn some more well different kinds of recipes not to big into salmon, more white fish or chicken. ☺️ You are right it's not a race. Thank you for reminding me and for the support.

Water, water, water! Cut out any sugary drinks you might be drinking and overdose on water. It's a big key to losing weight. Low calorie, low carb, low fat and high protein.

There are thousands of recipes out there that are more conducive to healthier eating. Pick one, make it and rate it. Build your own family specific cookbook.

The best food and exercise plan is the one you will stick to for the long term. They have to be things that you like and look forward to and definitely not marking time to when you can go back to 'normal'! Saying that, the food plan needs to be less calories than you need a day and aim at a one pound per week weight loss as sustainable. Eat whole foods and avoid packaged stuff. Avoid drinking your calories that includes pop, alcohol and juice. They don't make you feel full. As for an exercise plan - look at your average day and choose a time (or times!) when you will exercise - the eventual aim is a total of an hour to an hour and a half however 15 minutes is a start! Set that time aside like an appointment or a meeting time. Don't weekend warrior it - be gentle with your body and slowly push your edges so you don't get stiff and then do nothing for days on end because you are too sore. Also the soreness can build up a negative attitude where you see exercise as Buckley medicine that is unpleasant at best! You can do this!

Three pounds a week *is* a lot! Many nutritionists will recommend a rate no higher than 2 lbs/week, so to lose 3 means you're going along at a nice clip. It is very likely to slow down, though, so be prepared for that and don't be disenheartened - any loss is a loss. =) Pinterest and the app Whisk have good recipes on them. Also try googling vegan recipes, and then just topping those with your favorite meats. Googling recipes for the mediterranean diet will also give you some good results. =) Eventually work your way up to making your own! Find marinades and ways to cook meats you like, and combine those with your favorite side dishes. =)

I love FS app but for recipes, try Fitness Pal. It's free as well and I have made a few of their recipes and they are good!
