Hi FS Buddies!
So, I hit my 100 lbs lost goal today, coming in at 239! :D
Isabel is going to laugh, because my spreadsheet told me I should be able to fit into size 40 pants today, so I tried on a pair, and it was right! They fit perfectly! I am soooo HAPPY! That means I'm also down 8 pant-sizes. I haven't been in size 40 pants in probably 20 years.
The pants are a bit of a mixed bag... My brother passed away last year, at age 45. Officially, it was pneumonia, but the root cause was obesity. He'd had a bunch of medical issues as a result of his weight, and pneumonia was what finally got him. I bring it up because when we were at his wife's house for Thanksgiving the other day, she gave me a pair of his size 40's and another of his 38's (never worn), when she noticed how much weight I'd lost. The 40's I put on today were his. I wish he were here, instead of the pants. :(
Sorry for the downer. I just wanted you to know what the whole thing means to me. As an aside, I said to my mom on the way back from Michigan on Thanksgiving night: "43 years old, and I'm still getting my brother's hand-me-downs" At least she chuckled.
Anyway, here are my successfully hit goals and mini-goals (the "b" goals were added later):
Goal 1: 300 by 10/23/2013; made on 9/7/2013
Goal 2: 275 by 12/18/2013; made on 10/7/2013
Goal 2b: lose 75 lb by 10/23; made on 10/18/2013
Goal 3: 250 by 2/9/2014; made on 11/10/2013
Goal 3b: lose 100 lb by 11/23; made on 12/1/2013
Next up is the last goal I set when I started back in July: 225 by 3/31/2014. That's still my official goal, but I've unofficially bumped it -- I want to hit it by 12/31/2013. After that, I'll have to make some new goals... I don't have any others planned right now.
Some stats I'm particularly proud of from the ol' spreadsheet:
101 lbs lost (30% of my starting weight)
BMI 35.3 (down from 50.2)
Pants 40 (down from 48)
Waist inches down 7.5
And based on the list ClassicRocker sent me (
You lost what?), I've lost a 2-month-old horse. Ahh, humility.
About the BMI, I'm not in "Severely Obese" any more... just "Obese". Ahh, gotta love the BMI chart. Sure does make you feel great when you're striving to be "Overweight". I have to lose another 36 pounds to get overweight. Hah!
Anyway, sorry for all the boasting. I'm just excited.
Thanks for listening -- and all the support, always! You all ROCK!
