Well I did it!! I threw out the scale in the trash this morning. I did 40 min cardio last night. The night before was my leg day... I’m alternating cardio with weights. I got on the scale and was up to 216. So..... yea. I’m fixating on that damn number on the scale as opposed to my health. Seeing no progress with the “number” makes me want to give up. So I have removed the negative item and will record measurements and how my clothes feel. And ..... continue with my daily exercise regime and NOT give up.

I was about to buy a scale but I’m afraid of doing the exact thing and becoming fixated on a number. I weigh myself at a friends house once a month and do measurements once a month. It gives me something to strive for and look forward to when I’ve been working hard.

I like this approach... for years I have always been fixated on the scale and all it’s done is made me measure my self worth by a number. If I’m up I hate myself ... if I’m down I’m having a great day. It’s an unhealthy cycle that has finally made me break.
