hamsterface's Journal, 02 May 20

having really fallen off the wagon post wedding in February I now resemble a hippo. my face has taken most of the weight gain, can't see my neck. can't see my feet when standing. get breathless getting dressed etc. I am disabled so losing is a tad slower for me anyway as I'm often reliant on my wheelchair due to pain. but yesterday I took a long look at myself and decided I had to stop stuffing my face. thus lockdown, husband's shifts at work switching to night shift so not cooking just snacking. I'm eating out of boredom and I'm eating crap. today however is the start of a new day. I'm donning my facemask, grabbing a bag and going on a fruit hunt. today I'm taking back control. I aim to reach goal weight by December 31st!!!!! eek. roughly 64lbs to lose. here goes.
99.3 kg Lost so far: 0 kg.    Still to go: 35.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I also have a lot to lose and have been immobile for a while so understand how easy it is to say “stuff it” but u have recognised that you need to do something. Keep as positive as possible and don’t beat your self up if there are occasions you slip

Good for you, hamsterface! I noticed you wrote that you haven't been cooking. I find that even if it's just for myself, cooking makes me eat better food and can be an act of love and self-care. Also, agree with Kay Herbert: be positive and try to be kind to yourself if you sometimes slip. 💚

Thanks guys. Am in agony today. Slep from 9pm till almost 12.30pm today. Body is failing can barely lift my head but that's my disabilities. However despite this I made a healthy choice for lunch and will do so again for tea if I can move to cook. No one else in this house manages it so if I'm having a bad day no one cooks lol. I'm determined to beat this.

I am disabled, too. I did a vegan fast a few weeks ago and the weight was coming off beautifully until the lack of protein gave me horrible muscle spasms. I need to do this again but eat more protein. I always thought rice and pasta make you fat but they don't. May I ask if you have lymphedema on your face? you spoke about a mask... and not being able to lift your head.
