I am back from my vacation! Rested and feeling great. When I left on my trip I told myself I wasn't going to stress about eating and I also wasn't going to just have the "your on vacation" mentality. I made an agreement with myself that I was going to eat the foods I couldn't have at home when I wanted them and wasn't going to waste the calories on those foods I can eat anytime. I live in California now but grew up in Upstate NY and that is where I traveled to... the place with all of my childhood food memories and my family...including my grandma who cooks so well! The one drawback of that only eating what I can't have at home philosophy is that the list of those foods is VERY LONG!!! lol I did eat and I ate some really great food and had a blast. I don't feel like I "blew" it or that I just ate because I was on vacation. That feels like a huge success to me and I am pleased! Even with a 1.6 gain. It is what it is and in this new way of life, that 1.6 lbs is nothing!!! I will have that off in no time!

I did discover that eating foods that were high in calories and eating much less fresh fruits and veggies than I'm used too and almost no water is NOT a formula for success!! I felt like crap and my ankles...OMG they were the size of a small country and I was absolutely mortified to look at them for a couple days! I have been home for a couple days now, grocery shopped, and all back to normal. I have cooked some great meals, have a yummy menu planned for the week and all is well!

Plus... I saw my dad yesterday and he hadn't seen me since I had started this diet... he was like "WOW..you look skinny!! Did you lose weight on vacation?" Gotta love that!!!
121.2 kg Lost so far: 8.5 kg.    Still to go: 37.3 kg.    Diet followed: Poorly.

That is great! And I agree 1.6 lbs on vacation is nothing. YOu will have that off in no time plus more. :) I am glad you had a good time and are back home in the swing of things
