I'm being on "no processed food" diet since some time and it's surprising how much of a difference to quality of life it is. I cycle, run, swim along with working full time on shifts (4 in/ 4off - 10h a day), so it's quite intense use of my body.
Since being on "no processed food" diet, based on a lot of veges, fruits, meat, eggs, ect. I have no any issue to recover after hard days at work combined with sport activity before or after. But I let myself for a day or two to be on really junk food: "take away burgers", "ready to eat sandwiches", and after hard day at work and some sport I just can't get out of my bed next day eating this kind of - I'm sorry if offending someone - tasty but rubbish food...
So what we eat really matters...
I'm not going to drop any weight any soon I suppose as I've increased protein intake slightly, so my belly gets smaller but legs and back gets bigger :) Just to swim and ride a little bit faster. Changing 5kg of fat into muscles is not going to make me any more bigger, but slightly happier when doing sport and seeing a bit more of speed when pushing the limits... :)
