Swapping body fat for muscle is not easy.
To amp up my metabolism I am going to the pool and doing water running, it is very challenging! Whew after 15-20 minutes I am POOPED! I only do it 1x per week, because I need to run but as a klutz running in the pool is the only safe way for me to do so.
Also, I have found I am more motivated to get off my rear when I take the public bus. We are lucky here in Traverse City as the BATA system is pretty good. I live a 7 minute walk from the stop near my home and they drop me off where I work. Honestly, driving to work in my little car stresses me out. (My hubby is a BATA Bus Driver so I get a free Family Pass, all the better!)

DAY 3: Still doing my nightly stretching for at least 5 minutes. It feels like I am more able to relax, settling my tight muscles from a busy day, and I feel like I am getting an even better night's sleep.
Now I have to keep it up!

So I am going to add things to my health regime that I have only mildly added before. Time is a wasting and I have to kick it up a notch to really improve my life long health.
1. Pre-Bed stretching 5-10 minutes.
2. Steady state cardio everyday and not just 3 times per week.
3. High intensity interval training session 2 times per week on the days I am NOT weightlifting.
Since I like charting my progress of my health-style I will have to make a list and track my stretching how much and what kind of stretches to switch them up and see where improvements can be made.
For adding more steady state cardio I have the All Trails app and I will just go and do a new trail or ones that are close by. I could go for a walk in the new subdivisions that have been popping up around here to see how the new neighbors are getting on; I am nosey as well. ;)
At least the HiiT is only 2 days per week. I can track that will how much faster I get doing sprints or climbing the stairs at the football field, there are a lot of options for this one.
It's good to find other routes for my health band wagon. WEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I was in a plateau for quite some time and now not eating less than 2000 mostly healthy calories per day and increasing my fitness goals; a few more steps and weights.
I am seeing a slow yet progressive weight loss, finally.
I'm getting excited to see my twin sis and do some hiking in the Cumberland Gap and Paranormal Investigating at Brushy Mtn and other places in Eastern Tennessee.

GYM DAY!
Good to know you can still build muscle if you use lower weights. (I am forever stuck only being able to lift no more than 25 lbs with my last right shoulder replacement). One has to go to almost failure with reps up to 30, for 5 sets, resting 2 minutes in between.
Build that muscle!
