Ok! I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, but wanted to do an update since I just got back from working out. It was amazing!!! I did the c25k workout, and got through about the same as yesterday, but I didnt feel like dying like i did yesterday. Then, I went inside and did another 1/2 mile on the treadmill (at 3.0 speed) and some ab weight crunches and arm exercises with weights as well. On the whole, I'm sore, but I feel amazing. Yay progress!

Day 3, and my muscles in my legs definitely are sore, but not as sore as I thought that they would be. I think that going to work at the restaurant and being on my feet definitely helped my muscles to remain warm, and be less painful today. I can't decide whether I should stick with my original thought of weighing myself once a week, or doing it daily. I sort of want to do it weekly because it will mean less obsessing over weigh ins, and bigger shows of progress, but I also want to know if I'm doing anything that is helping! Haha... oh well... any suggestions on that front? Todays exercise goal is to do complete at least 1 more set of 60 second jog 90 second walk than I did yesterday. I figured out how to get a stopwatch on my ipod, and I made enough in tip money last night that I can go buy myself a better pair of running shoes. I think that that will be my treat to myself for being so good so far! I'll update later after I've eaten and exercised. Hope you all are having a beautiful day!

Alright... Day 2 is off and running... literally. Today I have been pretty good so far... made south beach diet turkey roll ups (from the recipe in the book) which were ok (though I really disliked the strong lime taste.. next time no lime juice), and then I started a new exercise regimen. I'm trying the Cool Running Couch to 5k thing, and for a first day I guess I did well but was really disappointed in my lack of stamina. I did the 5 minute fast walk, then the 60 second jog 90 second walk intervals twice and felt like I was going to die. I did one more 60 second jog and then walked clasping my chest all the way home. I guess it isn't that horrible... it is about 1.25/4 of what I was supposed to do... but I wanted to be able to jump into it right away. I'm in worse shape than I thought I was, and that is pretty disheartening.. but I am happy with the fact that I didn't give in to the urge to just skip the running altogether and veg on my couch. I do waitress 4 or 5 nights a week, and that is good exercise, which is perhaps the reason I thought I would be able to do better... but I won't let this get me too down. I'm going to make it happen and in (maybe slightly longer than) 9 weeks (which is all it is supposed to take according to the c25k website) I will be running 3 miles.

Alright, so I've decided that I am going to use this journal every day if possible to keep track of what I am doing and how well it is going.. as well as to set goals for myself and keep track of them. Goal 1: Stop drinking soda. I'm going to completely replace my diet soda addiction with plain water. Carbonation is really my only draw to it, and it is bad for me anyway... so Good bye soda! Goal 2: Start cooking at home again... and along that line, eat at least 2 meals at home a day. (Gotta break the fast food/eating out trend). Goal 3: Exercise 6 days a week (follow the exercise schedule that I wrote down in my day to day calendar). Alright. Now that those are down in writing, it is time to get cracking!!!!
