Wow, took two weeks to get rid of the TG weight! Now it seems I have a different holiday parties to attend...like to to three a week...no wonder I gained so much last year (even in the age of Covid!) So, what's the plan? There is no plan...except one...monitor intake and output
This really is a tricky time of year for me....

I actually gained weight! (Well, it was thanksgiving...) I remember the days leading up to that very special holiday; I wondered what I would do? I made the decision to enjoy family, to enjoy myself and to take full advantage of the opportunity to savor deep fried turkey, homemade mac & cheese, cornbread dressing, that rich brown gravy, oh and those greens! Wait! I almost forgot that delicious melt in your mouth ham! (with pineapple and cherries).
I guess what I'm saying is I'm good with it...
But now I am journaling about a bigger concern....holiday parties and events...Went to one last night...open bar, food, food, food and horse ovaries everywhere! So, I think my reason for writing so I can think about how I will handle this season. I have about 7 events to go to (so far) between now and the end of holiday season...
I will say this, last thanksgiving provided a quality of food that is hard to match...all home cooked and served up with heaping does of familial love... most industry events don't include that on the menu.
The food was good though :)
Onward....

Gaining 0.3 kg a Week
18 November 2021
Last couple of weeks have been interesting. Went to my first industry event in two years. About 200 attendees, there were restrictions to attend (had to be fully vaxed and uploaded proof prior to event). These events are known for open bars offsite parties and all sorts of food and snacks. I was a little concerned because, free food, free snacks, free alcohol? Also, no gym for a week. Well, I did it! I made it through. Did I attend some of the after parties? Yes, I did. Did I sample the tasty offerings? Yep, I did that too, but that is the key, I sampled. If it looked to good to pass up, I didn't I enjoyed each sip, nibble, and chew. When I returned my weight remained unchanged. Kept track of all intake and activity. The only thing...after a week of no gym, it can be a little tough to get back into the swing...but I'll get over that...small moves...

I decided to take a break….from work, from gym; from pretty much everything except my place of worship. I had not planned it, I just knew I needed it. However, I have continued to monitor food intake and caloric output. At first, I felt a little untethered. I even had this concern that I was hitting some wall. I’ve been in that place before and it’s a little scary (a little dramatic, I know), because I’m making real progress.
So today was my first day back at it. Went to gym, walked a bit and followed my usual eating regimen. Not gonna say it felt good, but it did feel right… onward…
