I would like to thank the academy...Slap...no... I want to thank my lady friend (Who I love and would marry in a heartbeat) to whom I sent copies of my new lab results. She was truly the one who not only told me what to eat but made sure I stuck to it. I was almost in tears. My labs were never better in my life than I can recall as an adult. Her response? "I knew it". I do have new questions to be answered by my doctors because I have been reading a whole lot of medical reports related to drugs and health conditions. #1. Doc, was it the statin or the fact I followed an almost vegan diet and lost 30 pounds since I met you? And almost 20 lbs. before I met you and you placed me on a statin? Hmm. Doc, I know you are going to push the statin which has many conflicting reports from not only the $U$S$A$ but also Europe (oh...and India?) But I can say no to drugs and yes to knowledge. I did drop out of four private Facebook groups because all they talk about is being skinny. I don't want to be skinny. I want to be healthy. The goal I would like to stay at is where I am now at 196 but put about 10 lbs. of muscle back on and stay at the 196. So, now it is about maintenance and replacement. I still need love handles for her, but since she has small hands, there's enough.

Hello fellow members. I've not journaled in 25 days now. I appreciate all the people that have invited me to challenges. It might be too much to ask but I would prefer more one on one messaging for encouragement and motivation. This new journey started back on April 14, 2021, when I was forced to hold onto a tree so as not move because I was in so much pain in my spine which was exasperated by a Senior Exercise class I took the day before. I went to a doctor, and I weighed 242 pounds. That is the most I weighed in my life. I was a massage therapist for 15 years and my average weight was 215 pounds. I exercised, mostly aerobic, every day, in between working out on my clients. My nickname “Big Guy” often had people who wanted a light Swedish Massage, asking for a deep tissue massage once in the massage room. I would average about 6 to 8 hours of muscle movement each work shift I had. Back to my long story for some of you that might have been reading my journal before, know I am a writer and I just love to write. In Dec of 2012, I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis in the sacral region. In the last 10 years, it has progressed to where my SI, L5, L4 sit upon each other and have bulging disks throughout my lumbar region into the beginning of my Thoracic region. I had two surgeons tell me that they recommend an 8 vertebrae Laminectomy. I said no. The first doctor I saw told me I needed to exercise. I asked the doctor; I cannot walk how can I exercise. He had no answer. Instead, after my request, we did a new MRI and an Xray. His response was I need new hips. LOL. YOUR FIRED! I went home and changed my lifestyle of what I put in my body. I also joined this site. As of today April 24,2022, I am partly proud to say that I did meet my goal of 205 pounds. But I have also gone past that goal to 198 pounds which I am not happy with. People say I look completely different which is fine. but my goal was to be at 205 and even trying to go back up to 210-215 in my massage guy shape. I did not have huge biceps or six pack abs, but I was physically fit for the most part. I still have the existing condition of the vertebrae S1, L 5, and L4 collapsed upon themselves. This is what is giving me my low back pain and now I have developed neuralgia in my left foot. The other vertebrae going through my lumbar region up into my thoracic region have slightly bulging discs. So now my new adventure is not visiting a chiropractor 3x a week for 5 weeks, because my training from massage therapy was done at a chiropractic college, I learned much about what I can do for myself so I will be exploring products which may help me that I will need to use every day the rest of my life. While there are people who write books about weight loss without exercise and make a lot of money, I do not intend to greatly profit from my experience. But I will write an ongoing eBook of my journey from the road I started at in 2012 to reaching the point I hope to be without surgery. I may even have the same motivation a past co-worker personal trainer in shape a man would turn his head like the exorcist, (sorry ladies), who informed me she was once grossly obese. Who knows, maybe I will look into being a Personal Trainer myself. Why not? I began Massage Therapy at 42, why not be a Personal Trainer or a Life Coach trained by real life? If you read to the end of my post, you will see I have changed my name from what was a hidden identity to my real name. I am proud of my accomplishments and for those of you who would like to reach out to me you would be able to call me David. Thank you for your time.
