I've been looking for an event to train for, just as another goal to set, to challenge myself. I don't want to do any kind of running, as I really do not enjoy it. I also want the training to fit into my current lifestyle/activities. I bike with my dog twice every day. She is a young (2yrs old) Golden retriever. Goldens were bred for hunting and love to run. That's true for my dog. I found a bike event that is taking place in February with two options, 15 miles or 30 miles. I think the 30 mile would really challenge me and my dog. I am not sure if we can get close to that but I think I want to make the 15 mile our goal. We have 6 months to train. My main concern is bike pace vs running pace, my dog will need to have the endurance to keep pace with the bike. I know dogs trained to run endurance can do 50+ miles/day. I'm going to have to research what kind of pace dogs can keep so I know what she can safely work up to.

I'm starting my 27th week of weight training today. That means I have successfully stuck to my weight lifting plan for 6 months. Halfway to a year with my new lifestyle, I have lost approx 6% of my body fat and I have replaced it with an estimated 6 pounds of muscle. I went from an "obese" body fat percentage to an "average" one. I may not have lost many pounds (only 3.6lbs!) but I have lost 4.5 inches off my waist! More than numbers, I have found more energy and happiness in my life as a result of taking good care of myself ❤️

Weight 141.2 lbs. 51lb muscle 31% body fat

Weight 143 lbs. 47lb muscle 36% body fat

Today I feel MOTIVATED! Woohoo! That has been a rare feeling lately. Thus is perfect timing because I have a lot to accomplish today and a to do list a mile long. Let's go!

Today I will not let fear stop me!
Upping my RDL to 110lbs (finally). I have been too afraid to do this! Mainly, "what if my grip is not strong enough?"

I'm onto week 24 weight training. Now that I'm home and in my routine, I'm looking to cut to 130-135. I haven't been counting calories but watching my macros continuing a high protein, whole food diet.
