Winter has arrived. Thankfully the wind has moved on. It's cold, but not a problem. The forecast is for 3-5 additional inches. Most of us have acclimated to the new season. Can't say the same for those new to the state. They build beautiful homes in the mountains with long scenic drives. Then the complaining commences. What do you mean the mail isn't delivered right to my door? What do you mean I have to deal with my garbage? Well, you do what the rest of us do. Pay for private pick up service or buy a truck and make a dump run. Why isn't my drive plowed? Put a plow on that truck you bought for dump runs. The worst thing is they don't know how to drive on snow packed roads. That's dangerous. Took me 3x longer to get into town the other day. Out of state vehicle inching along at 20 mph on the longest straight stretch of road. No passing allowed on this stretch. Or I would have.

My sister has been very ill and this is her second week in the hospital. She's improving, but it's going to be a bit of tough go for her. Like she told me good thing we're from hardy Viking stock.

So I really have not been into measuring or logging. Have to settle down and get my act together.

I love how this card turned out. It's a birthday card for my college roommate. She was always the fashion statement at school. Tall, thin and long legged. Every thing I wasn't. We were to meet for lunch, but we had a pretty decent snow storm over the weekend. Three inches of snow with 6 more on the way. Temps are in the teens and below zero with the wind chill. So we'll get together when the roads aren't so slick and icy.

I'm getting seriously concerned over the diesel fuel shortage. We've been trying to fill our tanks for the ranch for weeks. Would like to fill them before the next price jump.

Big game season is in full swing. The boys plan to head to the cabin. Now that it is cold and snowy, the elk should be moving out of the mountains. Me--I'll stay home.

No movement on the scale, but I'll keep moving forward.

I'm so glad we had a few last nice days before the snow hit the valley. Painting the back door has been on my to do list since mid summer. Finally got it done. Hubs just needs to change out the hardware. I like how it turned out.

I guess we're ready for winter. We covered all the patio furniture and grill, moved and stacked little bales, and moved and stacked the extra bags of soil and mulch. The garden is cleaned and ready for next spring. And my wrist ached all night. Wonder why!

Busy day today. Have to go into town. Bought new snow tires for my car so those need to be put on. Hubby has an appointment to see if he needs to stay on his cPap machine.

My weight is slowly creeping down even though I haven't been logging food intake. I'll be tested in the next few weeks as my birthday is coming up. My college roommate's birthday is 6 days before mine. She is coming over for lunch next week. Then my best high school friend and work friends are taking me out. Three lunches in as many weeks and then it will be Thanksgiving.
