After spending the past three days partying it up, not tracking calories, macros, or even the food I've eaten (and the amount) today I finally got back on track. After three days of overeating (mainly junk- sugar and salty food) I felt super full and bloated, and my body totally looked it. I was puffy from the face down to my ankles lol! I also wasn't very hungry, but forced myself to eat my first meal at my regular time (11 ) and ate dinner at my normal time too!
My total ended up being 30g of carbs today which is higher than what I normally take in and higher than what I normally like to shoot for, but it didn't bother me much seeing as I ate plenty of protein and fats.
I also made sure to drink TONS OF water to flush all the crap from the past few days outta my system. I normally drink around 115-120 FL Oz in a day, but today I drank around 130-140 FL oz.
I ALSO FINALLY WENT RUNNING AFTER NEARLY TWO WEEKS OF SITTING AROUND! WHOOP WHOOP! walking to my usual starting area I was full of excitement but also nerves. I had butterflies in my stomach. Even though I hadn't run in about a week and half, I hadn't run this particular route in almost a month. I was really worried that I'd find my performance had decreased, and that I'd gotten out of shape from my break.
I actually ran the best that I've done in awhile! I think maybe my body needed the break? anyways I was super happy and now that I've gotten back into it I will definitely be trying out some new routes.
I ALSO MET A MAJOR GOAL I HAD SET NEARLY TWO MONTHS AGO WHEN I'D FIRST STARTED RUNNING AGAIN (after like a 6 month break!)
about a mile into my run (it's 5 miles overall) there is a HUGE STEEP PAINFUL hill. my goal was to run this hill without stopping or slowing down, and I DID THAT TODAY!!! did my legs scream in agony and protest? yes but the pain was well worth it!
I'm proud of myself and I'm glad to see I'm improving and that my level of fitness has actually IMPROVED compared to what it was when I was nearly 35 lbs lighter. I am trying to lose weight still, but I've found that having other habits to go hand in hand with it are making it easier.
I unfortunately haven't been able to weigh in since the batteries in my scale died and I haven't gone to get new ones, but I think at this moment it's best I just focus on developing these habits, and not getting addicted to the scale again.
it took me a lot of time to "break up with the scale" and to teach myself that wright isn't everything (it's not all fat!) and so I've been extra cautious since starting this journey.
