Thanksgiving is over. I am glad it's over and I tried my best to make good choices. Of course I can't exactly count the calories I ate today, only estimate but I think I did good on this part. I went overboard with my net carbs - a little over 30 insted of 20. I did not touch any dessert like pies or chocolate but I did eat some dishes like green bean casserole, steamed broussel sprouts, two pieces of parsnips and turkey. I wasnt even close to be stuffed and was very hungry when I got home. I could do better at home, but I ate some cool whip to compensate the dessert I missed :)) I did go to the gym tonight I hit the treadmill for 25 min; burned 226 Cal. Hopefully it will be easier to get back to the ketosis stage again.

I am back to my diet again. I hope I can make it through Thanksgiving. We don't have any family or close friends here, so there are not many get together events going on. We are invited for a dinner on Thursday but I plan to stick with turkey, salad and green beans. I am not a big fan of potatoes, havent had them in years. I dont drink and hopefully will stay away from the pies. We always take a long walk in the evening after Thanksgiving supper. Thank God the weather in Arizona is perfect now.
I realized my mistake. I was pushing myself too hard: not enough calories and too intensive workouts. I was worn out and couldnt recover. That what led to my down fall. I am taking it slowly this time. I have been told that diet is 80% of success, so I am sticking to the diet. I will gradually add some exercise when my weight loss slows down and I adopt to the changes.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone. Even if you overindulge that day there is always tomorrow when you can get back on track.

I hate myself. I couldnt control my cravings and of course it shows on the scale. The bad thing is my cravings arent gone. I still crave sweets and bread and mexican food. I even considered switching to a different diet. I KNOW Atkins works best for me, just had that moment of weakness. I think being honest with myself this morning helped me to get focused on my needs. I am doing Atkins not only to lose weight but to control my diabetes. I am off my medication and was doing great. That is more important in a long run...
Well, back to my eggs, meat and fish. I definitely need to do a better job and try new recipes that will add more variety to my menu.

I have failed my diet miserably and gained 6 pounds over the weekend!!! I am back on track today and hopefully will stay there till my big trip to the Ukraine in December. I have to get in 170s till then and lose at least 2 more inches of my waist. Those are my goals and I have to figure out the way to reach them!!!

Today was very difficult for me to stick to the diet. When I look back at my day I am glad I managed to eat 20 g net carbs even though I cheated a little and ate 2 soy and flaxseed chips. I started to experience a heartburn. I did not realize what it was at the beginning and suffered for a few days but finally I took some tums and it helped for awhile. I wonder if it is common or what might cause it. Trying to ease the heartburn I kept eating. That is why I ended up with a few chips in my mouth :)) I ate way too much cheese today but it was the only "permitted" food I could get at work, so my calories for today are higher than usual. I have a weight training session tonight and plan on doing some extra cardio to burn those calories off. I hope it will not slow down my weight loss. I was down to 183 lb! I can't wait to see 170s.
