Another drop for the week. Eating more, moving more and losing weight. Hmm, how about that.
For all of the people fretting over small weight gains while measuring frequently here's my weight path for the week.
4/8/2016 211.6 <= previous low
4/9/2016 215.2 <= up 3.6 lbs in 1 day
4/10/2016 215.4 <= up 0.2 lbs in a day
4/11/2016 213.4 <= down 2.0 lbs in 1 day
4/12/2016 212.4 <= down 1.0 lbs in 1 day
4/13/2016 211.2 <= down 1.2 lbs in 1 day
Net loss 0.4lbs
These fluctuations occur due to fluid (water) retention. I think it's your bodies way of playing mind games with you. Just ignore the short term fluctuations and carry on. If you're in a calorie deficit you will lose.
I hope everyone has a great day!

Losing 0.3 kg a Week
10 April 2016
Had a busy weekend so far. Yesterday I installed a septic tank riser. I had to dig a hole about 4'x4'x2' to get it in. I'll admit part of it was already loose dirt from having the tank pumped out. It was still a lot of dirt to move. It took about 3 1/2 hours for the entire job. Unfortunately last night at bedtime I was really hungry and selected almonds to snack on. I went way over on my calories but I'm not sure how it really balanced out with my calorie burn. If I go by my fitness watch I was way over. Shouldn't be a problem since today I'm not very hungry.
Today I put down weed & feed and insecticide on the lawn. That was bout 3 hours of walking around with the spreader. That's a good workout as well. I also did a few other odd jobs around the house, nothing strenuous though.
My weight did rebound. It's up about 3 1/2 lbs which is just water. I find it odd when people get upset about a little gain. That's been the story of my journey, down then up. As long as the long term trend is not up I'm happy.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Losing 1.0 kg a Week
06 April 2016
I'm now in uncharted territory. This is my lightest weight of my adult life.
The diet I'm following is an IIFYM type diet with calorie cycling. I have a range for protein of 0.7-1.0 g/lb LBM, and a limit I try to stay under for fat of 90 g/day. Carbs are flexible based on the calorie target for a day. I try for 1-2 days of lower calories followed by 2-3 days higher. My goal average is 2150 cals/day.
I incorporate strength training as part of my fitness. I also try to get in more NEAT activities such as just walking around, getting out of my chair every half hour, using my desk at work in stand mode, etc. I do get out and run every once in while as well for high intensity exercise (keep my heart rate at >90% estimated max).
I know some don't believe it, but it really is about calories in vs. calories out. Everything else is just a detail.
I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

Losing 0.8 kg a Week

I got my latest labs back from the doctor's office. They said everything is normal but I wanted to see for myself. I think they are pretty good.
TGL - 71 mg/dl
HDL - 60 mg/dl
LDL - 96 mg/dl
Total Cholesterol - 170 mg/dl
CHOL/HDL ratio - 2.8
TGL/HDL ratio - 1.18
A1c - 5.0%
The only thing that is worrying me is my blood pressure has increased. The doctor didn't appear to be too worried about it though. He said he would put me on medication if I wanted it which of course I don't. For now it's just monitoring and see where it goes.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
