Hey everyone! I'm back!

No, that whole span of time gone wasn't me on vacation. The first week I was gone I was just MAD working on my deadlines. I had several to do before vacation and I didn't have time to input food, count my calories, workout or even make meals. I had so many damn ready-meals it was pathetic.

The second week my friend from Boston came to visit me. We went out to eat often and ate like hell the rest of the time because we didn't want to buy a ton of food only to have it go to waste while we were in Vegas.

The third week was Vegas. This is pretty self-explanatory. No dieting there whatsoever. It's the Land of Buffets, Drinking, and Quick Eats. While it's pretty easy to be good on most vacations, this is one spot where you just really CAN'T be good. Sure, I had the occasional salad, but 80% of what I ate was junk or in huge portions.

Last week I was just busy again. More deadlines. Started work as soon as I got off the plane. I finished two of those deadlines last Friday and I can breathe again, so I thought it was time to come back.

AND HERE I AM! And would you look at that: NO GAIN. I'm honestly quite shocked about this. I'm embarrassed to saw how much alcohol was consumed, how many BK burgers were eaten, how many bad snacks I wolfed down and how much exercise I got (hint: I can count how many times I got a workout in the last near-month on one hand). I guess we did an awful lot of dancing, most of my alcohol was liquor with water or a diet soda (therefore less calories than beer or wine), and my body is still an awesome metabolism machine, I guess.

Pictures! You all wanted pictures!

...It might have to wait. On my last night someone stole my little camera. Most of my vacation photos were on my big, fat, professional camera, but that camera had zero photos of my and my friend on it. To make matters even worse, my friend almost never took her camera out; I was in charge of taking the photos, she said. She has like, 20 pictures, tops. We have something like two pictures of us out at night and ten photos from when we dressed up at the convention. :(

You might have to wait because she's not near me at all, our internets are SLOW, and she's been spending ALL of her time with her boyfriend as of late so she's not been online at all to give me photos. I'll have some eventually, I promise.

I just got back from my first run post-vacation. While it could have been much worse, it wasn't very good. I did keep a pace...but it was really slow. I finished...but Gah, I don't want to know the time. I had a good stride...but my throat hurts so bad I'm pretty sure I forgot how to properly breathe. It's a bit discouraging.

It's good to be back, guys!

I guess I'll give a little update since it's been awhile.

My trainer is still in the hospital. :( Poor guy. My training session hasn't been rescheduled yet, so I'm starting to get really antsy about it. I hate going to the gym and doing all these old techniques not-professionals taught me in high school and college when I see everyone around me doing these techniques they obviously got from a trainer. I'm starting to be convinced everyone there had at some trainer time. It's really intimidating but really motivating at the same time.

I'm still pretty durn poor, so my diet hasn't gotten any better. I do still have some carrots and grapefruit and that helps, but I'm seriously eating just sandwiches or noodle-and-sauce packs. At least I'm not gaining any weight. Stayed steady at 128 even though I went to the gym only once last week.

As of tomorrow, TWO WEEKS TIL VACA! It's coming up so fast. I am totally not prepared. I still have to wrap up a couple projects, get a haircut, pack, buy snacks (stupid hypoglycemia, making me waste valuable luggage space on snacks), clean the apartment thoroughly for my friend's arrival next Friday, make plans for the Neon Graveyard on the first day of Vegas, make plans for the weekend my friend is in my city visiting me, and try to get down to 127. Whew!

Although, I'd really like to loose like, five lbs in the next two weeks. I know, I know. Wishful thinking. I'm just trying to woo this really pretty "new friend." I love saying how we met: he's my best friend's best friend's boyfriend's best friend. XD When Mike entered Sarah's life, Leslie, Sarah, and I started hanging out with Mike's group on occasion. That's when I met Sean, who is my type in every way and I'm really quite smitten. I feel super fat when I stand beside him, though, because while 15" taller than I am (he's 6'4" and I'm 5'1"!) he's still a bit skinnier than I am if we stand side by side! Our two groups are supposed to go boating soon and I'd love to look a bit better in a bikini and I know he'll look at my Vegas pictures (poolside at the Rio!) because he's a Trekkie, too. I felt pretty good about my body until I realized the giant of a man I'm crushing is THAT DAMN SKINNY.

Whew! When I went into the office today I got to talk to my boss (who is the head of sales and therefore has some major pull) and to the head of HR about my paycheck thing. We discovered why I haven't been getting my paychecks: the parent corporation, Brunswick, changed physical check rules: They will send out checks 30 days after receiving the invoice. It used to be 15, but I was never informed of that. Neither was HR or Sales, apparently. What I want to know is why the accounting woman I've been dealing with for a week hasn't told me this...maybe it slipped her mind, too. I don't know.

All I know is that they're sending out ALL my missing checks with next Tuesday's check load. I'll have to live off just a few dollars until then, but I can manage. I have been doing a really good job lately with my money, so I can keep it up!

The funny thing about this is that I'm struggling to get by right now, but there's a possibility that in two weeks I could be making...a lot of money. The only in-house designer at the corporation I work at (I'm a freelancer) left last week, and I've made it to the top of the hiring pool to replace her. However, just yesterday they changed the job description when they realized they had more money than they thought. Design will no longer be done in-house, but outsourced to design firms around the state. There would be someone from the corporation overseeing all it, though, and that's the new job. I would become Creative Director, where I get to be boss and tell everyone how I want things done. Designers at other firms would come up with some ideas, do the gritty work, and show it to me. I then tell them to change a color, or change a block of text or to scrap the whole thing all together because I make the decisions. It would make $20,000 more a year than the design position I originally applied for.

...I'll splurge and buy tons and tons of produce if I get the job.

I had to buy some groceries today, though. I got a box of cereal (because it's cheap and goes a long way), milk, eggs, a loaf of bread, a thing of cheap sliced ham, a pound of hamburger, a jar of spaghetti sauce, whole grain shells, a bag of carrots, a small bag of potatoes, and 5lbs of grapefruit. $30 and that should be able to keep me going until next Fridayish. Combine it with some of the things I have in my apartment—like frozen green beans, shredded cheese, white rice, and chicken flavored noodles—and I have a ton of meals.

If I didn't like produce so much I could live like I make $100 a week, damn.
