I started a Keto diet last night. Wish me luck!
For dinner:
.5lb burger patty cooked in butter with a slice of provolone cheese
.5 cup baby arugula under the patty
side of sauteed baby portabella mushrooms, red onion, and small amount of bacon
water to drink
no snacks after dinner

I've gained a few pounds. Partially due to the holidays, partially due to starting a new exercise program. I've read that it is common to maintain/gain weight at the beginning of an exercise program due to the amount of water you're retaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, I've bought a gym membership. I have said I was going to buy one for the last couple of years and, after a stressful January 1st, I went out and bought one. So far, I have gone to the gym at least 3 times a week and have loved every minute of it. It has taken some time to figure out what kind of routine to get into. There is so much information on the internet that it is overwhelming at times. Everyone has their own opinion and that has made it difficult to know where to begin. So far, I've taken a fancy to the ARC trainer machine as it is easy on my joints. I've tried to do a mixture of cardio days and cardio/weight training days. The more I go, the more adventurous I get with weight training. I've used a combination of targeted machines and body weight exercises. I'm working my way up to free weights. Wish me luck :) I am going skiing at the end of February --it is my first time-- and I'd like to be ready to face the slopes.
